Is it safe to run a 10.8kw electric shower on 10mm twin and earth with a 50 amp mcb breaker?

45 or 50 is fine. Not 40.

Thanks for the advice. Definitely have one free breaker position and will go for 50a. The CU is in the cellar and it runs up the wall, through a ceiling and under a very short run of wooden floor then up through the stud wall of the bathroom. It's a Victorian house, so not a scrap of thermal insulation anywhere unexpected.
Is there an RCD, and if so - what rating is it, and what are the other circuit breakers already connected to it?
