Alternatives to T&G Chipboard flooring?

Hi, just bringing back an old thread for some further advice. After a long hiatus, I've started making progress on sorting out the T&G flooring, but just wanted to check whether C16 timber was suitable for me to add some battens to the joists to partially support the ends of some T&G boards or should I go with C24?

Thanks in advance!

C16 is fine, all I'd say is that when I buy C16 and C24 the C16 ends up with well over half the lengths bent and twisted if it's sat in the house for a month or two. C24 it's more like 15% that end up unuseable.

Does my head in to the point I don't use C16 for anything these days.
