LG microwave not heating food

Hi all. Have an LG Intellowave microwave. Used in a steamy kitchen, and it made a worrying crackling sound. It is now going on fine and turntable turning, but not heating anything. Any idea if it can be fixed please? Has been great and perfectly fits the space so would like to fix if possible.
Any ideas appreciated. Thanks!

Best to call it a day, unfortunately - it does sound like the magnetron (heating element) has called it a day as the crackling is often the internal magnets destroying themselves.
Not really a DIY job unless you know what you are doing due to capacitors inside which can store electricity for a while, so if you intend to open it up leave it unplugged for a good while before you do!
A professional repair will be possible if the part is available but the cost may be prohibitive.

As above, a new magnetron is approx £40-50 and as stated, microwaves are dangerous to attempt repairs on, unless you know what your doing (risk of fatal shock, even if unplugged)

Its true, but the capacitors will be completely discharged after a while. To be absolutely sure I leave the things overnight before diving in.
