12 billion cost of the NHS national proggramme for IT (2004 / 10) which failed to come up to snuff or deliver a functioning
IT system

Described as one of the worst scandals in terms of a waste of public money

30 grand the estimated council. Tax cummings failed to pay on his 2nd home in Durham since 2002

But is not bei g pursued for

£50k actually...

But what's an extra £20k to goebbels...

He'll simply tap borisconi for the whole amount - and more!

If he had failed to pay, they would have taken him to court. They have no claim for the back tax.
I don't know the background to the NHS IT project, but they employ over 1M people, so 1,500 per year per employee doesn't sound quite as bad.

It's also slightly wrong. Some elements of the program delivered. NHS.net has been a sucsess and is the underpinning for the NHS use of teams and office 365 which turned out to be very useful thanks to Covid-19.

Sadly we can't just arrest and imprison every client who requests unachievable products, PM who fails to deliver or IT monkey that lets bugs through their code.

If only the client spec'd the requirements.. it will be the management consultants.. Quentin and Tarquin, fresh out of polyversity with a 2:1 in business studies, billing £1,500 a day. The code will be written by an army of off-shore developers charging 200 a day for the same days work to 10 different clients. The service level will be ridiculous and any bidder worth his sox will have factored in a huge amount for stupid risks. £10M project becomes 50M instantly.

Another covid death...........

BBC News - Bobby Ball: Cannon & Ball star dies aged 76 after Covid-19 diagnosis

Well, the headline gives that impression anyway.
More evidence that Aunty Beeb is going the way of the rest of the sensationalist meeja(n)
Why sensationalist?
Went to hospital with breathing problems, then while there diagnosed with covid. There's a good chance having covid caused the breathing probs, no?

Because they put it in the headline.
Because it is not yet known.
Because he was 76.
Because he was overweight.

The Beeb used to go in for factual reporting, they used to be better . That's my gripe.

It's not you downplaying covid again then?

The headline is factually correct, you perhaps just don't like it because of your stance on covid? He died, after he tested positive for covid. From what I can see, all other media outlets have said the same, even the 'high brow' ones..

Shame.

Do you agree or disagree that under the emergency legislation contracts should be handed out 'willy nilly' without tendering or parliamentary scrutiny?
