Got a cut in electric cable for extractor fan

If it were me, I wouldn't have used any tape.

I would have got one of those so-called choc boxes, discarded the connector block, and clamped the box over the damaged section of cable.

Looks like it's meant to be there, unlike messy tape.

Just plug it in and forget about it. I wish I knew where you lived soni could tell your neighbours that you have a piece of PVC missing from your extractor flex. You might want to leave a bit of cereal in the to feed then demons that will haunt you lmao. Forget the amagamating tape. There is no copper showing, it still has the brown covering so dont worry about it. We had Christmas lights for years at line voltage for many decades without secondary insulation. Not sure why you were wrapping the pins of the plug in self amalgamating tape though. I thought it was a laugh...
