Does clear sealant look milky when applied?

I need to replace the sealant between Caesarstone worktop and upstand, as in places it is starting to peel and in others is discoloured. The current sealant is opaque and milky, which is the effect I want. But having never used "clear" sealant before I just need to know that this how it will look when it goes off. Or is there some other type of sealant that gives this effect?
Also, while I'm here - it is currently a really neat, tiny bead of sealant. As an amateur I've only ever done sealant using masking tape before and masking off such a tiny bead will be a real faff. Any tips for getting a tiny, neat bead without using masking tape?

"Clear" sealant dries to an opaque finish, such as you have now. It's been a long time since I used it in my shower room so can't remember if it was milky when applied but it's still in good condition after 5 years.
To get a thin bead you need the nozzle hole to be as small as possible. I normally fill the gap and then run a wet finger along it to give a smooth finish. If your finger starts to get dry before you reach the end simply wipe it on a cloth, wet it again and continue along the remaining. I've never used masking tape after discovering it left a little 'ledge' when you peeled it away.
