How high should socket be

Prettyness asside I wouldn't want my vacuum plugged into a high level socket because I'd be worried about accidently knocking stuff off tables/cupboards with the cord. Keeping the sockets near the floor, keeps the cord near the floor even when it gets pulled tight.

But perhaps that's an irrational worry.

Makes sense now you say it, but I can't remember ever knocking anything over with the cord, well not yet anyway...

My experience of three different brands of cordless vacs has been extremely poor.Give me corded vacs any day.

I've found the opposite, though it might be down to the feeble wattage that modern vacuums use for energy efficiency compliance. I love my Shark, but I keep an industrial wet'n'dry for the dirtiest of the DIY!
