Ancient Rooflight

Hi. I have a question about an old type of roof light. Having a discussion as to whether this thing was ever designed to open and how the opening would work, size of opening.
Looking at the flashings doesn't seem possible.
Sorry photos rubbish but got no others.
Thanks if any veterans recognize the thing.

It is fixed panes with glazing bars..possibly the hoppers could be changed over for openers.

Hi thanks for the response ... do you mean that it did not have opening function ? And are you reasonably sure about that ?
There seemed to have been some kind of hinge but possibly that was just to lift from the top for maintenance.

Where is the hinge? I'm as sure as I can be going by the pics the top units are fixed in place.
