I've recently set up my computer system in what was an inbuilt cupboard, I managed to cut a piece of wood the exact shape of the cupboard and i'm quite happy the way thats turned out.

The problem is there's no real room for the keyboard so what i need is a pull out keyboard shelf that attaches to the underside of the shelf.

Does anyone know of a company that supplies such a thing?

I'd appreciate any help on this one.

Ikea sell them, I got one from the "IVAR" unit if I remember rightly.

They come 300mm or 500mm width and 830mm in length which you can cut down to size if need be.

DIY shop sell metal door runner which you also can use

I've checked the Ikea site and there appears to be nothing assosiated with the IVAR range.
There's plenty of computer desks which contain a keyboard shelf but nothing i can see on it's own.

B&Q sell computer shelf runners in pairs and you can use these on any dimension shelf you need.

You won't see it on the website !

Ok i'll maybe pop into Ikea this weekend.
Is the Ivar range wooden or metal?

Howabout this for an idea:

Make the deepest shelf that will fit in the wardrobe. Then instead of mounting it on metal runners, build sturdy wooden channels for it to slide into with some method to prevent it sliding all the way out.

The action won't be so slick as metal runners, but I reckon you would end up with a much more solid keyboard support. I have always found slide-out keyboard shelves far too bouncy for my liking. Even on expensive furniture designed for computers.

You're using the keyboard correctly and doing nothing else ?

Well, in my experience they are bouncy enough that you could use them as a little hamster trampoline. ;)

I guess it is personal preference, they sell enough of them that obviously they aren't an issue for most people but I got so miffed with them (any PC desk the right size to fit where I have my PC has one) that I ended up building my own workstation into the room. Very simple, basically two shelves across a corner but measured up and sized exactly for me. And the keyboard shelf is very sturdy.
