You mean like all those 'protestors' who went on the rampage after Southport?
They were after all the original lot on their 'protest'...
But as you say, there was 'no need for peace keepers'...
Even though as it turned out most of those arrested had history!
As was pointed out, a mosque in Sussex was attacked last night...
They tried to charge into the building but couldn't get in, so set a fire outside whilst people were inside...
How come the attack on the Synagogue was classed as terrorism but the one on the mosque was only classed as a hate crime?
After all it was only good luck that no-one was injured or worse in the latter case...
But both places were identified places of worship linked to particular but different religions...
So should it only be classed as terrorism if an arab/muslim is the perpetrator?
And not if it turns out to be right wing british people?

The clue is in the definition of the words.
But if you are so eager to attribute an arson attack on a religious building to terrorism, maybe start with the dozens of churches that are set on fire every year, with hundreds more being vandalised, but never make the headlines because you know, who cares?
Claims data from specialist insurer Ecclesiastical shows over 150 churches across the UK have suffered arson attacks over the past five years, causing millions of pounds worth of damage to historic buildings. In the latest incident, Pitsmoor Christ Church was the victim of a fire on 4 July, which South Yorkshire Police are investigating as arson. While the number of attacks dropped during the pandemic, churches are b to take urgent action over the summer months when arson attacks more frequently occur.
The Countryside Alliance was able to find out that there were 9,148 records of theft, burglary, criminal damage, vandalism and assault taking place at a church from January 2022-December 2024.
The breakdown of this was:
3,758 thefts and burglaries, not including 179 lead and metal thefts,
3,237 incidents of criminal damage, vandalism and arson,
1,974 cases of violence.
The results are likely to be much higher, as only 43 out of 45 police forces responded to the requests by the Countryside Alliance and only 33 of these provided figures.

I think you might not have remembered that correctly. There is no such defence.
Perverse verdicts don't mean the charge wasn't valid, just that the jury didn't want to convict.
Its quite obvious that for some its a good excuse for a bit of Jew hating.
Vanessa Felts was talking about being attacked and chased down the road on LBC today by a "peaceful" Gaza Marcher shouting "there's Vanessa Felts the nazi zionist facist" through a megaphone, which resulted in her being chased. Fortunately the "peaceful" Gaza marcher was arrested.
I am 54 and have never attended any protest or March, I actually think the idea of restricting weekly reoccurring protest is not a limit to one's freedom, but rather a recognition that a protest might actually be limiting others from enjoying theirs.

it's an acknowledged legal defence as a defence of necessity, or of course, self defence.
You can still be charged, that's when the defence of necessity or self defence is used.
It's quite obvious that you believe that is so, but your belief does not make it so.
Going back to Diane Abbott's comment about anti Semitism being different to other types of racism, it's easy to argue that it is different, it has a different word to describe it.
If it's not different why does it have a special word. all to itself, to describe it?
Why not call it racism, just like any other form of racism.

The law on protests was fine until certain groups decided to act in bad faith. For decades protests were sporadic, planned and purposeful. Now the pro-terror crowd and the climate loons want to redefine the word to mean maximum disruption at any and all times until they get their way. That's not a protest, it's a mob.
