Just an update for everyone, i purchased the https://www.screwfix.com/p/varilight-v-pro-1-gang-2-way-led-dimmer-switch-white/94816 and swapped the cables as suggested, and they are now working! A massive thank you to everyone on here for their help!

I'm sure varilight dimmers can be bought in main/helper pairs so the helper switch tells the main switch to do the dimming and hence dimming control is available at either switchIf they both do the same light then only one of them can be a dimmer.
OP, you may find dimming your LED to be an unsatisfactory experience; most LEDs just reduce their light output when dimmed so everything is the same colour, just not as bright which ends up making everything look somewhat pallid.led lights to dim!
The total wattage is around the minimum for your dimmer, but you may wish to try a dimmer that is selectable between trailing edge and leading edge and see if either setting improves your successhave 14 in my room, will that still work?
