Can the Mirka pad saver be used instead of a DeWalt backing pad? Are the two compatible? They look different to my untrained eye.It a mystery why you can't buy pad savers for many sanders.
I use them all the time on my festool ets150 sander.
I've also stuck velcro on with Stixall or other polymer glue on my cheap sanders.
If you buy a new pad try a mirka pad saver. You could cut to fit.
Is it right that I need to turn the hex screw clockwise to open it. The bugger isn’t shifting!![]()

Is it right that I need to turn the hex screw clockwise to open it. The bugger isn’t shifting!
How do I stop the d26410 disc from turning. The button on the side only changes the range of the sander but it doesnt lock the disc to enable me to open the screw.
I held it with two hands whilst my partner tried to turn the ellen key anti-clockwise. The hex screw doesn't open. Can you not simply hold the pad whilst using the allen key?
My first Festool 150mm sander didn't have a spindle lock function. I used to hold the pad and loosen it. From memory, it was an allen key anti-clockwise- which makes sense given that the pad spins clockwise.
