What have you had for dinner

Stuck in a bit of a rut, with what to have for a change, I tried to remember what I'd enjoyed buying from our local, high st butcher, long ago. I just couldn't remember, but they do offer a very wide selection, of ready prepared's. I suggested, giving their individual, home-made steak pies a go, and so, off Av toddled to see if they had any.

We've never been disappointed, with anything bought there, and these pies were as good as any I've tasted. Tender, slow cooked beef, in a suet pastry, chips, peas, and gravy.

A pub i visit regularly makes it's own steak and ale pie, in a big oven dish.

If you book a table - in the bar, must be in the bar - and the girl comes out and says "we're out of the pie", nowt they can do will save the evening.

Fray Bentos?

We bought more of the delish, and tender steak pies, from our local butchers shop, for Monday's dinner, then on Tuesday we tried the 'revised' frozen version of lasagna from Lidl. The 'revised' lasagna was horrible, we both left it, the original was fine. We will not be buying that again... Av, has just set off to Lidl, and is going to buy one of Lidl's fresh lasagnas, we'll see if that is any better.

Got a phone call from Argos, asking if I really want to cancel the mattress I had ordered, which they had failed to deliver, and the tracking showed it not to have progressed out of the factory. Why? I rang and made it clear to cancel it yesterday, I was prepared to be messed about any more, over the delivery.

If y'all wanted a fresh lasagne why would she not cook it herself?

Went round our daughters for dinner tonight and her husband made a shepherds pie accompanied with just some steamed tenderstem broccoli. It was bloody 'andsome.

As Mrs Mottie has coeliac disease, I’ve sourced the ingredients and I’m going to have a go at cooking this for our tea tonight. Hopefully it’ll have some flavour to it….
