What have you been doing today?

Just got back from a few nights away at the Camelot Castle hotel. Stunning place. I was a bit taken aback when walking into the reception to see a large photograph of the owner with the Donald, and the various photos of the owner with guests and friends included Charlie Kirk and good old Nige, we'd unwittingly booked into a hotbed of right wingery, I loved it.

Got me gardening 'ead on today. Going over the allotment to sort stuff out today. Some of us in our street have 'adopted' patches of neglected council land in the road and weeded, tidied and planted them up to brighten up the area. This morning I added a bird feeding pole and a couple of feeders to 'my' patch. The bluebell and snowdrop bulbs that I planted have just started poking their heads through and the daffs will soon follow. Looking good.

It’s looking a lot better than when I first started to clear it three years ago - I found a discarded knife in the undergrowth!

Morning walk over the south side of Thorndon Country Park. Haven’t been there for a while. They are clearing some of the woods.

Months ago, I decided to fork out for the back-box of the car's exhaust, to be replaced with a custom-made stainless one. Custom, because the OEM were no longer available. I sounded terrible, noisy, boomy, not at all what you would expect, in a 'gentleman's carriage', nor what I had specified when I'd ordered the work. November, I got around to complaining, and made an appointment for today, for the noise to be addressed....

We are just back, and it is much, much better, what ever they have done to it, but it looks like exactly the same box on the back. Would they open up the existing box, and revise the interior layout?

Have they fitted another silencer in the system, before the rear silencer?

I don't know, but I doubt it - I couldn't take a proper look, it was outside, very wet, and hidden by bodywork. I'll have a proper look once it dries up. The original back box, was quite large, the replacement, and what I could of it this morning, was tiny.

I wonder if the first one they fitted was incorrect.

There was no 'correct' one, they only offer custom systems. A replacement OEM back box was no longer available, so I asked if they could fit a custom back box, equal to the silence of the OEM. What they fitted was the 'boy racer' noisy version, despite me making it clear, in email, what I wanted, and them agreeing they could do it. There was nowt much wrong with the original, just the outer steel skin breaking up with rust, but I didn't want it letting me down, so I decided to seek out a replacement.

All seems fine now!

As a replacement for statins, to reduce my cholesterol level, they have since prescribed Ezetimibe 10mg, for the past few months. I've noticed no side effects at all, apart from a bit of knee and elbow stiffness/pain in bed. I read somewhere, that the statins, can cause some skeletal deterioration....

Well that theory, knocked on the head...

I've been on the Ezetimibe 10mg for a few weeks, the distressing side effects from taking the statins, have almost entirely gone, but the knee and elbow problems, which appeared on taking the Ezetimibe 10mg, have simply got worse, rather than better. Stiffness once I get to bed, then on a morning my knees and elbow joints are locked up solid, painful to free them, takes me several minutes before I can get out of bed, then I'm fine for the rest of the day - weird.

I had a phone appointment with the doc today, and he said to stop them for now, see if the problem clears, and he will organise another appointment to ring in a couple of weeks. He was talking of maybe getting me an appointment, for a cholesterol clinic, to look at other options.

Odd, that I'm hyper sensitive to cholesterol reducing tablets, but none of the other tablets I take and that my side effects are so extreme, and not the common side effects, they usually list as a possibility.

This morning I helped to load the last of my motorcycles on the van that will transport it 200+mls to it's new (heavily vetted) owner. For the first time in over 50yrs I find myself with no motorcycles from which to choose from. I promised myself not to cry & I surprised even myself by not shedding a single tear, but this really is a major event in my life. My nearest & dearest seem to have been keeping a respectful distance all day. Now that the sun is over the yardarm I have retired to the wine cellar, where I hope I will continue to be left in peace.
