I’ve messed around with something I probably shouldn’t have, and now I’m trying to work out the cause of water dripping from above a window (see attached photos).
The area was damp, so I opened it up to check for a leaking pipe. Instead, I found metal mesh supporting concrete. I also used an endoscope camera but couldn’t see any obvious leaks.
The external window seal appears to be intact, and there are no visible issues with the bathroom or radiator nearby.
The property has cavity wall construction.
Any ideas on likely causes or what I should check next would be appreciated

I checked the gutter and it was completely blocked and overflowing. It hadn’t been cleaned for years, so that may have caused the leak. I’ve now cleared it and will post an update here in a few days.

That brickwork above the large window is in a poor state, water will be coming in and landing on the window head internally, the brickwork all needs rebuilding from the arch to under the cill above, with a cavity tray above the arch, the rest of the brickwork could do with a repoint at the same time.

The cause of the water penetration was the crap pointing letting in water. That's the defect that's needs rectifying.

The leaking gutter was the aggravating factor this time. Next time it could be just direct rain, or another overflow, and the damp will reoccur.

The style of that terrace looks like it may be old and not have a cavity. If it is a cavity wall, consider having a tray fitted.
