Hive TRVs

Hi Forum,

My boiler is Ideal heat 15 which has a minimum CH output of 4.8kW.
Ground floor:
Living room - Hive thermostat and rad with normal TRV fully open
other two rads (diner, hallway) normal TRVs
Upstairs:
3 bedrooms with Hive TRVs, bathroom towel rad fully open.

I want to install Hive TRVs on all 3 rads downstairs so I could use "heat on demand" for one of bedrooms without heating up my livingroom unnecessarily. Bathroom towel rad would still be fully open as a "bypass" if you like but obviously only one bedroom rad and bathroom towel rad wouldn't be enough to cover my boiler's minimum output of 4.8kW.

Just wanted your opinion/advise/comment if my thinking is right, would it work? would I run into problems? Perhaps there is another way of achieving this?

Not a fan of individual room control, but yes, that would work.

Would my boiler not just go into "limp" mode heating only two small rads?

Yes, it might cycle on and off frequently, but will work. It's probably doing that to some extent already if the upstairs rads are off.
