Have disconnected all radiators today to replaster and paint over the summer.

After making sure all the valves were fully closed, I went to repressurise the boiler so I could have hot water (I’ve repressurised many times with no problems).

For some reason it will not do it. Nothing wrong with the mains, cold taps running normally as are hot taps with cold water. I can’t hear water flowing when I open the two valves on the filling loop (as I have done all previous times).

I’ve had the filling loop off, and opened each valve individually and they both seem to be working correctly.

I’m hoping someone here can tell me I’m missing something silly, coz it’s driving me nuts.

Many thanks in advance

If the boiler can't circulate water won't it burn out?
Mate did the same and boiler burnt out same day.
I thought they just stop working if they get too hot but his was toast.

They’re usually ok to work on hot water as they circulate around the plate heat exchanger same as using it in summer mode. Your mates must have been something different. They usually have sensors/ntcs to prevent overheating
