yeah I was wondering about that on another thread but a) it wasn't clear if I could put a 240V bulb in a 12V downlight fitting due to no earth?? and b) the 12V connector is sprung and its that that holds the bulb in place so I couldn't find a suitable replacement

OK thanks I get it There is a strong preference to retain the current MR16 downlight fittings from SWMBO :)

Hi All Will this transformer drive a 12V LED downlight instead of a 12V Halogen ? Would save swapping them for LED drivers Thanks

We're replacing 12V halogens with non-dimmable 12V LEDs and I don't think these would work would they ? Am I correct reading that these are rated to 220 W ? So having 7x50W halogens on one switch is overloading them ?

Thanks all I agree that replacing the whole lot would be easiest but SHMBO is expressing a strong preference for retaining these fittings .... So the solution seems to be just replacing the 12v transformer with a 12V LED driver - and replacing the bulbs themselves with LEDs ... I was hoping...

Hi All Our lighting circuit is earthed ... I'm replacing 12 halogens with LED's using one of these Just wondering what kind of cable I should use to connect this to the lighting circuit ? I can only find 3 core lighting cable - can you get just 2 core ? or should I use 3 core but tape...

Hi again Does anyone know the manufacturer for this 12V downlighter ? The bulb is quite recessed Looking for something similar for GU10s or ideally convert this to GU10 I guess I could use a simple GU10 holder but the current bulb is held in place via springs so not sure that would work...
