    TRV extensions

Right, I had wondered about that. I assume they are chrome plated steel? Thanks.

    TRV extensions

Thanks for that. These are the ones I had intended to use before I saw the telescopic ones so will stick with these and cut them down with a pipe cutter. https://www.screwfix.com/p/tesla-1-2-bsp-male-taper-x-15mm-compression-rigid-trv-extension-piece-100mm/599hf

    TRV extensions

I have been looking at radiator TRV tail extensions as I am installing new radiators which are a bit shorter (metric). I was going to get the rigid type but there seem to be a lot of the telescopic type available. I would be a bit sceptical of these but the comments about them seem to be...

    What size angle grinder?

Trouble is that my local scrappie said the value of scrap is so low that its not worth the mile drive to pick them up? They said the same about a bath I took out. Still, based on what you have said about the aggro cutting them up, I might try another scrappie as I would rather not have to chop...

    What size angle grinder?

I want to cut up some old steel panel central heating radiators to help with disposal and thought this would be an ideal time to get myself an angle grinder, possibly used from ebay etc. Is this a job for a larger 9" disc machine or would a smaller one still do the job? Thanks.

    Garden tap thread.

Yes, the measurements seemed a bit odd to me. I measured the thread with digital verniers so the figures should be pretty accurate. They don't seem to tie up with any threads I can find. A think a new tap could be the way to go as it will take standard adapters which I have loads of.

    Garden tap thread.

My garden tap hose connection thread has an outside diameter of 22.9mm/0.9". What thread is this? It doesn't seem to tie up with any sizes I can find. I want to fit a hoselock adaptor but not the universal clamp on type. If I can't find an adapter then I will probably replace the tap.

    Removing beeswax

Thanks for that. I have plenty of rubbing alcohol so will try that.

    Removing beeswax

I want to sand some marks out of an oak coffee table top. However, the wood has had beeswax applied over many years and although I have tried to clean off as much as I can with white spirit, there is still wax remaining on the wood which doesn't allow the sandpaper to sand properly. It clogs up...

    Ring RCB320 Charger switch position.

Thanks very much. My confusion arose because when the switch is pushed to the left, the slow charge writing on the right is uncovered which could mean this was the slow charge position. I thought I would just make sure.

    Ring RCB320 Charger switch position.

Can anyone tell me the switch positions for charging and starting on the Ring RCB320 charger/starter. It is not obvious on the unit or the instructions. What doesn't help is that the position markings that are supposed to be below the sliding switch are either obscured or not there. Should the...

    Paint for flexible sealant.

No problem. I will probably look at using an external flexible wood primer like Ronseal flexible wood primer and undercoat or Rustins equivalent. Can only try. The thing is, no one else would ever notice the cracking but now I know it is there, I need to sort it out.

    Paint for flexible sealant.

If the primer is white or near white then I would leave it at that. I would mask the wall and ceiling about 10mm out so any slight shade difference wouldn't matter. I would still have a neat strip around the top.

    Paint for flexible sealant.

What is the best paint to use on flexible but paintable sealant? My bathroom fitters have used it around the edges of ceiling cladding and I have emulsioned the sealant along with the walls as the colour of the sealant was grey and the ceiling and walls are white. I was in a hurry to get the...

    Shower door seal

I have just had a new single door shower cubicle fitted. There is a flexible (ish) seal on the edge of the fixed glass that the door slides over when closed. The lip of the flexible seal is angled so that the door slides smoothly over it as it shuts. However, when the door is opened it causes...

Error message when copying video files

Just to close this out. I managed to get all the files copied across. I had to copy them in small batches and still occasionally got error messages ("file format not recognised" or "an error occurred while copying files"). However, disconnecting and reconnecting the phone seemed to do the trick...

Error message when copying video files

I have been trying to copy some videos from a phone to a laptop. However, I keep getting the message "Data supplied is wrong type" and nothing copies. The properties of the files look ok, they are all MP4 files, mostly received over Whatsapp. I tried removing the SD card and plugging it into the...

    Soaker hose lengths

I have recently fitted an irrigation system (4mm) for a number of fence mounted baskets. I have fitted two spray nozzles for each basket but these do not seem to be very effective at soaking the whole basket. I think a lot of this is due to having to throttle some of the earlier nozzle flows to...

    UPVC window hinge type

I don't think it is either as the window seems to open fully. I have seen a couple of pictures of these suggesting they might be variable geometry hinges. I am more interested in finding some with the fixing holes in the same position as mine. Securistyle hinges seem to be the closest match and...

    UPVC window hinge type

Can anyone tell what type of hinge this is? The hinge has an extra control arm in the middle which is missing on the majority I have seen including those fitted to my other windows. I have seen these hinges online but there is nothing to say why they are different. I want to replace them but...
