Worked it out, it was catching at the bottom. There is an Allen screw at the bottom of each hinge to adjust height, the photo shows the top of the hinge. moving the top of the door towards the hinge has fixed it.

If it didn’t have a hole for the earth pin you couldn’t use a 13A plug. Probably nothing connected to it. Wife’s last Mokka had a built in invertor and 13A socket, forget what the current limit was in the book. it was never used.

What is supporting the end of the stringer? Suggest you strip out everything underneath the stairs bar the stairs themselves so you can see what you have, the stringers are the load bearing structure so should really be sat on the floor. When you can see how the stairs themselves are...

A neutral (Blue or Black in old money) connected to earth (Green/Yellow- old or new) or vice versa would explain an RCD tripping. Check there are no connections between N and E anywhere in the heating system. Once wired an oven and the clock worked fine, as soon as heat was required it tripped...

You haven't got air loss, there is gas being generated by the system so potentialy corrosion somewhere.

Surely if the bath filler behaves in the same way the fault isn't in the shower mixer. Where is the hot water drawn off from the tank? Our showers were fed from half way down the tank and used to run out of hot water very quickly when we had visitors (lots of showers).

Thanks for the suggestions, I found the diagram in the boiler instructions and followed that, working now but no idea how it worked yesterday. One addition is a neutral wire from the wiring centre down to the boiler . . . I couldn’t see where else the pump/boiler stat would get neutral...

Looking again there is a loose black wire as well…… also from the tank stat. Only one wire was connected to the tank stat (common to T6 not that it means much) no one has touched it since the guy who serviced the boiler changed the three position valve actuator a year or so ago so the wires...
