    Looking recommendations on home cctv

As long as you buy the DVR / NVR with the required number of channels / camera inputs you can alway start with a few cameras and add further cameras at a later date. There’s an old saying that I’m always aware of when buying goods “buy cheap, buy twice”

    Looking recommendations on home cctv

Fitted a few Hikvision systems for family and friends, great kit and have had no problems. They do a range of colour at night cameras Darkfighter and ColorVu I have fitted some other cheaper makes but not a patch on Hikvision and I would steer clear of some of the “budget” brands.

    28mm plastic pipe and conduit

28mm plastic pipe isn’t really that flexible, probably the reason why they don’t do pipe in pipe in 28mm.

best outdoor camera for gutter surveillance

I understand what you are trying to achieve but don’t see how a camera is going to help. Every time you get heavy rain, you’ll be watching the monitor (probably better than watching some of the dross on broadcast Television) assuming you are at home at the time or you have a system that can be...

My daughter moved into a house with a Glowworm Ultimate boiler that was put in when the house was built, I repaired it a number of times for her, 2 PCB’s, air pressure switch, electrode plus other external components, pump, mid position valve, controls etc over a period of about 3 years. Each...

UFH Pipes - Which brand? order from?

Pipe types are normally Polybutylene, PEX or MLC and domestic systems tend to be 10mm (in overlay type UFH) and either 15mm or 16mm in screed. As already mentioned, there are plenty of companies / manufacturers that will help with system design, length of circuits, pipe centres etc.

    Panasonic 55HZ980 Panel Maintenance Failure

Thanks, I’d already googled and found that thread, unfortunately tried those suggestions but no luck. Although some of those options appear slightly different on her model, no DNLA Server, but there is a Home Network which I’ve turned off. Many thanks anyway. I’ll hold off on the factory...

    Panasonic 55HZ980 Panel Maintenance Failure

My daughter has a Panasonic OLED television, model number 55HZ980, she keeps getting a message that says ”the panel maintenance has failed to complete”, and when on standby the light is orange rather than red. She hasn’t got a USB or HDD connected, no recordings scheduled, she’s tried turning...

Push Fit Stop Cock/Tap to Replace Old Sized One

I wouldn’t use pushfit on that copper tube, too many potential problems that may stop the “O” ring from sealing. I would opt for a Pegler or similar quality 1/4 turn lever valve, compression.

    Leaking JG speed fit elbow

The main reasons for a weep / leak on the copper side of the fitting would likely be. ”O” ring damaged, perhaps “nicked” when copper tube was pushed into the fitting. Can happen if pipe cut with hacksaw. ”O” ring sitting on area of damaged copper tube, dent, scratch, solder etc. ”O” ring has...

    Leaking JG speed fit elbow

Replace the fitting, make sure the copper pipe has been cut with a pipe slice or similar that puts a bevel on the end of the tube (square cuts with a hacksaw can leave sharp burrs that can damage the “O” ring and cause leaks) make sure there is no damage to the copper where the “O” ring sits...

My prized VHS videos need transferring to DVDs.

My prized VHS videos need transferring to DVDs.

Once you’ve got the tape in digital format on a DVD there is a lot of editing software available that you do on your PC / laptop and save to SSD / HDD etc. Its getting it transferred to a digital format that’s key.

My prized VHS videos need transferring to DVDs.

I bought a Panasonic VHS to DVD recorder all in one off eBay, transferred all my home videos onto DVD then sold the machine on eBay for more than I paid for it.
