what do you use? ive seen some use ground glass

Hi there Im just wondering if you guys generally whack the sand before laying the blocks (and then add a 2nd layer of sand) or only whack after leaving the blocks proud enough to allow for compaction? Ive been given different advice and wondered if theres a best method? thanks

yes thats right, which if im correct means fire ratings not necessary. As you say though, maybe the ones ive seen do already hve am in fire rating but it doesnt say so on the description

thanks, they are in the kitchen and a couple in the ensuite. In both cases they are flat to the ceiling and not recessed which if i understand correctly decides if they need to be fire rated or not
