SUNVIC white box is making a noise

Thanks, I'll swap for another Sunvic Actuator SZM 1801 if I need to. Yes, I think it is probably just the motor that has failed and I'm happy to have a go at replacing it myself. Any recommendations for which one? I'm not sure if this one is official and fits... It has a lot of good reviews...

SUNVIC white box is making a noise

Or can I replace it with another make instead? Honeywell seem to get good reviews and are available in more shops. I'm not sure which one I need though... https://heatingcontrols.honeywellhome.com/products/Valves/Motorised-Valves/V4043-Motorised-Valves/ Also, I like that with the Honeywell, you...

SUNVIC white box is making a noise

Thank you, very helpful :-) From reading/watching and http://www.seered.co.uk/sunvic.htm, plus the noise it's making, I think it's a mechanical issue, not an electrical issue, so I'll get a replacement and fit it myself as you suggested. I could get a replacement Sunvic Actuator SZM 1801 but...

SUNVIC white box is making a noise

I ran a hot tap for a few minutes and the red wheel didn't move. I forgot to say that I have recently had issues with the hot water not getting hot, unless I also have the heating on - could this be the cause? What do I need to buy as a replacement?

This SUNVIC white box is making a noise - I don't know what it is :) Please can you tell me what it is and if I can replace it myself or if I should get a plumber to replace it? Video https://photos.app.goo.gl/5tsGCCKGkXKoTTu26 Thanks. *edit SUNVIO/SUNVIC

How should I fix this fake window film issue?

I e-mailed a glass company and they replied with this: We have reviewed your images and would like to recommend replace the glass for a Satin finish glass instead of replacing it with a film. The life expectancy/warranty on external film is very short 4-5 years and because of this we do not...

Thanks both for the advice. I'll get someone round to take the windows out and replace the film.

How should I fix this fake window film issue?

I have a house that's 11 years old - I moved in 3 years ago and it has fake windows between floors, where the black film has gone bad (please see attached image). What's the best way to fix this? Should I hire someone? If so who, a glazier?

Recommendation for Bathroom Air Extractor with Humidity Sensor

    > do they go straight through the wall in a 100mm-ish tubular duct? I think so, but I'll check. > I wouldn't go for the humidstat version though. I'd have one that comes on automatically with the light switch, and runs on for a timed period afterwards. That's what my current ones do. Okay...

Recommendation for Bathroom Air Extractor with Humidity Sensor

Hi all, Please can you recommend me a bathroom air extractor with humidity sensor. I'm looking to buy 4 to replace the ones that I currently have (all 10 years old and noisy/failed - I moved into the house 3 years ago). 3 bathrooms with showers/bath and 1 room with just a toilet. I have looked...

Fitting 2 earth cables to a lightswitch

The bulbs are LED dimmable. Right now, I can turn them on and off, plus they dim/brighten a little, but not properly. I have one cable in Live and two in Load. LED bulbs (dimmable option)...

Fitting 2 earth cables to a lightswitch

I have done what you said (see photo). The problem I have now is that I can turn the lights on an off, but they don't dim/brighten as they should - is this likely to be because of incorrect wiring (of the brown wires - both are in the socket with the X symbol), or because of a faulty lightswitch...

Fitting 2 earth cables to a lightswitch

I am trying to fit a new lightswitch and have read that I need to connect the earth cable to the faceplate first, then to the backplate. However, I can't fit both into the hole in the faceplate. What should I do? Thanks. Paul

Where can I buy 3mm green and yellow earth cable?

This seems like a really silly question, but I've asked in B&Q, Wickes and Maplin... I am replacing a light switch in my living room. The old faceplate was plastic and the new one is metal, so I need to earth it with a cable. Where can I buy 3mm green and yellow earth cable? I can only find the...

Recomendation for Exterior House and Window Painters in MK

I live in Milton Keynes and need to get the front and back of my house painted, plus the window frames sanded and painted. Any recommendations? Any ideas how much it will cost? It's a 3 bedroom mid-terrace, so it wont take them long :) Thanks. Paul ________________________________...
