How to put a 10mm diameter screw into plasterboard?

I have a hook with a 10mm screw that I want to put into an internal wall (plasterboard).

I can't find wall plugs wide enough for this. What can I do?

If the diameter is 10mm that suggests it needs to be quite strong, which plasterboard isn't! maybe screw it into a stud if there are any, or cut a hole in the board and screw it to the wall behind.
