Floor advise, tile over backer or WBP?

I will be using natural stone tiles as well. So do I need a flexible rapid set adhesive? I used "Keraquick" from Mapei downstairs, it said it is flexible, but was advertised more as a rapid set than a flexi adhesive, would this be ok? The grout was flexible as well. Whats your view on...

Oak door casing attaching door stops?

Tell me about it, we are doing every aspect of the house. I reckon its taking me twice as long with the details but hopefully it'll be worth it in the end. My Mrs just shakes her head and says you won't notice anyway.

Hello, Sorry yes, 18m wbp ply. Obviously i'll make the floor as level as possible. I was going to use these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Tile-Backer-Board-10mm-Insulation-Board-Special-Offer-/300573240467?pt=UK_Home_Garden_Hearing_Cooling_Air&hash=item45fb8fac93 Cable UFH. Then either...

Floor advise, tile over backer or WBP?

Hello, I have just built an extension on my bathroom. It is to house a large bath sunk into the floor. I am constructing a WBP 22mm floor, around the edge of the bath. (approx 600mm all around the edge. The rest of the bathroom is old style floor planks/boards. Again 3/4". The whole are...

    Built-in wardrobes with sliding doors

You have one fundamental thing wrong. You said "half for you half for the Mrs". Shouldn't it be 2000mm for the mrs, 300mm for you? Do you mean, in plasterboard up timber?

Oak door casing attaching door stops?

Sorry, I missed the important bit. I don't want any visual fixes. I suppose small nails from the nail gun are "ok" but would rather glue if possible.

Removal of fitted Air Con system?

I've just installed mine and its very good, Doesn't look great outside, but neither does my wheeliebin and I wouldn't remove that either. Mine warms very well, and means I have less rads.

    What voltage cordless drill?

On steel battery drills are better, because they turn slower and control speed better. For something like a 2.5mm drill bit anything would do the job. Lots of pressure, nice slow speed, you want to see the steel turning or chipping off. Don't go fast with light pressure, that will just rub...

Oak door casing attaching door stops?

Hello, I purchased an oak door casing with loose stops, whats the best way to attach them? I'm assuming wood glue and wedge inplace, but wondered if I was missing something.

Difference between C16 and C24 grade timber?

Sorry to go slightly off topic but it might help the op, recently I changed some floor joists in my house to "upgrade them". They were 7 inch probably 100 year old joists. (no idea what timber they used back then). They were all over the place twisted etc. So we removed them all and replaced...

Why is 4x2 no longer 4x2?

A while I guess. I'm not all that fussed about it being in inches as I work in metric. What annoys me is the metric equivalent of 4 x 2 would be 100mm x 50mm. And its not that! Somehow in the swap they made it an awkard metric size which doesn't match the inch equivalent anyway, its something...

Unvented 10l undersink heater to fit to gravity system?

I think you would hear it or see steam as its before the trap. Surely its just a "normal" washer, no doubt it will have a shorter life, but only like any other appliance that has hot water entering it.

Unvented 10l undersink heater to fit to gravity system?

Strange, I asked the same question a few days ago. I couldn't find anything wrong with feeding it hot water. They come with a PRV that I plumbed into an extra port on the trap. (i.e.) dishwasher/washer port. If you genuinely only need 5 litres of water fit the 10l straight to the cold. I...

    Flexable bath waste 38mm?

Hello, Ebay/china! haha. To be honest the quality of the bath isn't bad. And of course I could change the whole waste, but the flexable part would be very handy. I've just bought one of these, http://www.screwfix.com/p/flexi-waste-straight-coupling-38-45mm/81383?_requestid=1077112...

    Flexable bath waste 38mm?

Hello, My new bath has a 38mm waste, its on the end of a flexible corrugated pipe (bit like a hoover pipe) it has about a 6 inch section that is 38mm. A 40mm compression is too big, as is a solvent weld, or push fit. But 32mm is too small. (obviously) Any idea's how to make this work...
