Am looking to replace some switches and sockets, nothing fancy, just a straight replace like for like. Other than 1-Gang 1-Way type features for light switches and 1-Gang features for plug sockets is there anything else I need to think about when I am buying the switches and sockets?

For such a short wall you could do a drystone wall rather than pay for marshalls, you don't need footings. I have done this and it worked well for me (the wife was pleased).

I am installing some fence posts using concrete repair spurs, the spurs have 12mm holing. As the posts are new and I want to bolt through them should I accommodate the future movement of the wooden posts?

Sounds like a good idea, how regular should they be, every 4 bricks or so? Is water seal of some sort worthwhile I wonder if the cost would be prohibitive, especially if I coat both sides of the wall?
