    contract emulsion

Hi all, Does the word 'contract' actually mean anything with regards to emulsion. Two people have told me different stories..one being it is just a suppliers cheap version of a product and should only be used as a 'mist'coat and not a finish coat. Any advice ?

Why paint ? why not line ?

Soz Growler. Obviously if walls are 'perfect' then no problem. What I meant was if you strip, then there's residue paste, flaking paint etc. What do you think ?

Why paint ? why not line ?

Hi all. Read lots of threads on board about problems people have when they remove wallpaper and decide to paint the walls i.e residue paste, distemper etc. etc. SO much preparation to get paint to adhere. I generally just line the bl...y wall and therefore don't need to worry about potential...

    Doors stripped

Cheers for that Robbie. So do I need to stop them waxing my doors to give me a greater choice in the finished process ie stain, dye, varnish etc? In other words if they strip and wax I can then only wax them and are there different colours of wax I can use ?

    Doors stripped

Gonna get my painted doors stripped. Apparently the firm are going to strip them and then wax them. What is the waxing process for and what exactly is it ? Can I still dye/stain/varnish or paint them after this waxing process ? Many thanks.

Is this a big no no ?

The walls in the house are a mile out....in fact the whole house slopes. I am about to paper a bedroom wall and because of the pattern and the sloping walls it will look skew wiff when hung...am sure it will. Instead of using a plumb and spirit level could I actually put the paper up crooked so...
