is it worth doing a portfolio of all the plastering work i have been doing. i am still learning, i do plastering on the side at the minute until i build up my experience. i have taken before and after pics of all the work i have completed but dont know whether its worth doing one or not. do...

cheers for the pics steve what i meant about the colour of the pva bleeding through was when i gets painted and you put the mist coat on but i cant see it bleeding through anyway, just me being over cautious. :shock: cheers mate :lol:

very true if you want quality work then you have to pay for it. although there are exceptions to the rule. i had a plaster come to my house last year and plastered all my staircase and landing for £130 per day. took him 2 days +materials, which i thought was very cheap for the quality of work...

what do i add to a pva mix to change the colour so that when i put it onto the walls i can clearly see the bits i have missed. nice and bright like a green or red would do. do i use food colouring?

he should definately have removed the switch plates. joker

im a diy plasterer and i leave a nice tidy smooth finish around switches and radiator pipes etc. there is no excuse, he should have paid more attention to detail. use someone else next time. also i took richards advise about the paint and my walls look awesome, so i would go with that...

just a quick one guys. when i recently plastered under some stairs i was struggling with the angle right at the top, its about a 45 degree angle. what can you use to plaster angles like this with ease. cant find anything

the first time you plaster the boards you dont need any pva just scrim tape over the joints. when you plaster over the plaster again then you will need to pva the partition wall. good luck mate remember it takes a long time to get a good finish so dont be to harsh on yourself should you...

hi there, i also bought that dvd ( mastering plastering ) when i was curious about plastering. i have to say i have never looked back, but please beware it is very hard work and takes a long time to get to even a decent standard. after watching the dvd i bought a trowel and hawk plus buckets etc...

just a quick one , i am plastering a ceiling and it has horrible :evil: deep artex on it. i dont think two coats of multi will cover it even with knocking the rough edges off. my question is should i use bonding on it first and if so do i pva it before hand, i am new to using bonding and...
