@motorbiking - No boards as a new build. 1 wall of block work and the others are all timber studwork. I am thinking 12mm would be best but not sure if cement board of the lightweight stuff?
Hi all,
After some advice please....
I'm a ex tiler and I am currently building a house for me and my family.
I have 2 en suites and a bathroom that are currently at the studwork / blockwork stage.
During my relatively short time as a tiler I did not actually have to prepare any walls from this...
@opps
Thanks for that.
@Wayners also said he preferred the Toupret so I have bought some of that.
I got a bargain as they are selling off at Jewsons at for £1.20 for a 2kg box at the moment. :).
@Wayners - Will I need to build up the layers as the Troupret states no depth limit and I cannot see a depth limit for the easifill on their data sheets?
@NickB_99 @Wayners
Thanks for advice.
I was going to just ignore the crack to the right and use the flexible paint to cover it but I'm gonna take your advice and stick a few screws in and bridge the gap in the loft using a plasterboard offcut.
Is this the Troupret Standard powder....
And is...
Cheers!
I was planning to do that as well but forgot to put in the OP.
Should I also PVA after the adhesive stage prior to skimming or will the skim adhere well enough anyway?
Happy Easter all,
I am currently redecorating my bathroom and I am trying to repair a crack in the ceiling.
I discovered that the crack was due to the board moving and this was due to the original plasterboarder using a ridiculously small piece of scrap timber to increase the joist width and...
Thanks to everyone for your help. (y)(y)
I can't say I totally understand how this all works but now appreciate that it is not just a simple case of matching voltage and wattage as the frequency plays a large part.
So I will try the GU10's instead!
Is it just a simple case of swapping the GU5.3...
Thanks everyone for their answers (y)
From the above 2 replies I think the 2nd is correct and I do have a "transformer" that is probably a "power supply" and it is designed for LED's so I am confident that it is the correct piece of kit.
However since my original post I have discovered that...
Hi all,
Over the past few years I have had regular issues with my 12 kitchen downlighters due to replacing the standard 12v lamps with 12v LED's and leaving the old transformers in place.
As I understand it, the issue is that the transformers require a minimum wattage to be drawn to work...
Think I may have miscommunicated yet again:oops:, I actually want the hall PIR to sound the alarm immediately, hence the need of the landing keypad.
Agreed! :D
I assumed that a keypad near the panel would be useful when setting up the alarm as it would minimise the number of trips up and down...
Thanks to both of you for the advice.(y)
I think I did not explain myself correctly so sorry about that.
When I said fobs I actually meant the type where you can arm and disarm by pressing a button, like a remote car key.
Also I had forgotten about being able to use apps to arm and...
An update....
NPG eventually agreed to move the cut out into the garage FOC and I agreed to dig down to allow them to connect into the cable.
However when they turned up today they immediately said they could not do this as I had not core drilled the wall.
So I phoned NPG who said they thought...
Hi all,
Currently wiring my house with cables for a home alarm system and I was wondering what peoples thoughts were about the number of keypads that are required.
In my current house I have 1 at the front door and 1 in the garage, these are the only 2 entry points and then another 1 on the...
Thanks for that.
Thanks but I think these are POC Coax cameras and I want ones that will run of cat5e cable instead, POE.
I did start to look into all the various things to look for in a camera on ipcam but it's a bit overwhelming, certainly a lot more complicated than I thought it was going...
Thanks for that idea and it does make sense but even then I do not think it will fit.
I've added a photo of the actual meter..
Unfortunately when I asked the EON Install Team Leader he said they could not fit it on it's side, I get the feeling that unless it's been tested and approved they will...
