Reading data from Texecom Panels to a external server/service

Thank you. email sent. While I'm on here, one somewhat related question. Smartcom, does that have to use Texecom cloud services? or can you run your own domain and disconnect it with texecom cloud which in effect means it's all hosted on premise with your own domain name and DNS connecitng it to...

Reading data from Texecom Panels to a external server/service

Hi all: I've seen the odd blog/forum thread on attempts to read data from texecom panels onto a Arduino, Pi or server to then trigger other events such as notifications and home automation etc. I'm looking at the new SmartCom capabilities but at the same time evaluating alternative approaches...

Hi I have a fault with one of my PIR sensors. The alarm keeps going off seconds after the alarm is set and shows that the zone is in alarm. The PIR is the TEXECOM PREMIER ELITE QD PIR Purchased and installed 3 years ago. No prior issues. I do notice that the green LED on the PIR is on a lot...

    Texecom Ricochet Troubleshooting

OK I will give that a go and do a few tests. Can I bother you for a couple of more minor bits? 1. Using wintex > User Code Maintenance: which option sets that on entry a user can use Fob or their Pin? At the moment my user profile only allows me to disarm on fob only. I am comparing my...

    Texecom Ricochet Troubleshooting

Having now installed my first Texecom wireless Ricochet system (after having done a few wired texecom panels), I have to say I am overall impressed. The installation manual could have been clearer on certain aspects but the system seems to perform well in the tests I have done today. I have a...

    Texecom Ricochet Troubleshooting

Perfect, it worked! I was deleting the device from the Ricochet menu when I should have done as you said which is to go to zone setup and clear the zone entirely. Then relearning the ricochet devices is simple. I wish the installation manual was clearer about this. Thank you very much...

    Texecom Ricochet Troubleshooting

Thanks @secureiam So I thought I did follow the instructions step by step. Here is what happened: 0. Engineer mode set as normal and opened the panel to connect the laptop to the com part and moved the commissioning jumper off. 1. Ricochet monitor showed the device but the wintel didn't have...

    Texecom Ricochet Troubleshooting

Basic question... I have deleted the bell box from the keypad, but the bell box doesn't want to learn onto anything. I have attempted to put the jumper on the off position on the odyssey and back to on and use the keypad to learn the device but the boxx flashes the left LED quickly for a while...

    Texecom Ricochet Troubleshooting

Thanks, sounds like the sensible thing I should have done! I did just have a look at the last download on wintex and noticed that the bell box probably isn't set correctly. For each wireless device the zone and attributes window has a little section on the bottom right showing "Ricochete Device...

Alarm power - spur on a spur!

Thanks, I connected the panel up on a test bed by means of a normal plug to familiarise myself with the panel before going and doing the install. It was the 3amp fuse in the plug that blew. I'll make sure the Fused Spur is connected properly and attempt to use a 3amp again during the proper...

Alarm power - spur on a spur!

Hello: I'm currently having a look at the proposed location of a alarm panel and power. There is a single gang plug socket close to the proposed position but it is on a spur. We think we have traced it such that the spur comes directly off the ring main. I was wondering if it is acceptable to...

Hello I am getting my kitchen modernised and as part of that process I am having a boiler moved. Pipes need to be routed in the ceiling between through joists. and down to the new boiler position. No access from above so we are planning on cutting out a section of the ceiling to run the pipes...

Gas supply in steel or copper

Sorry for the slow reply, I believe threaded steel. Again I am no expert but I thought steel would be safer but if copper is common practice then I'll go back and have the conversation with him.

Gas supply in steel or copper

Hi I had a Gas Safe engineer visit as we are having a new boiler installed. The current gas supply is 15mm but the new boiler requires a 22mm supply. I was advised that we need to run a new 22mm supply from the meter and that it will be done in steel. I should have asked at the time but perhaps...

@secureiam as always thank you very much. I am currently familiar with down/up loading configuration settings on wintex using my laptop connected directly to the PCB. I will got and read up on using the Ricochet Monitor. Looks neat. With respect to the Odyssey X-W, should I treat it like any...

Going wireless on Texecom - reliability

Thank you @secureiam . I've lost count how many times you've responded to my posts with advice! I'm looking at the price of getting both from Texe... Gsm-Com about £150 Smart-com about £60 That's more than the budget for this property. I think the owner of the property will be ok with basic...

Thanks all. I have just placed an order for Texe Kit-0002 + a couple of usual extras. I would appreciate some advice on wireless diallers/notification methods please. Again I have put in wired diallers in the past, in fact @secureiam and others will be aware of my obsession with testing TAP...

Going wireless on Texecom - reliability

Many of the kits online are the cheaper PIRs: Premier Compact PW-W. Have you used these ones? I have only had experience with the Elite QD (wired) and these are great but not sure what the PW-w are like?
