I'm thinking of running some electrical cable behind some skirting board (running horizontally) - it will be in the gap from floorboards to the plaster Do I need to fit metal conduit over this ? Is this allowed ? Thanks in advance

Yeah - I could - but time isn't an issue so I re-filled anyway. Another option would be to drill out hole and use bigger plug and hope it shifts correctly and lines up better :)

When drilling a hole and it isn't quite in the right place, what is the best way to correct this ? I've drilled into masonry with a 6mm drill , plugged it and when I offer up the shower screen it is about 0.5 cm too high. How can I correct this without simply pulling out plug and re-filling and...

Hi I can't see the difference between tapered / square edge board... why can't I use square edge and just joint fill and then paint...i.e. not skim it ? Is this OK? Thanks

It used to work - I just disconnected it all to tidy the cabling up and replace the old socket with a new one - so it "should" be ok ? It's on an RCD.

OK, can I have 2 mains cables coming up behind that skirting board in parallel together (and very close possibly touching) join their wires i.e. both lives to live etc to power the next socket along ? Is that OK ? Will the 2 cables get hot near each other ?

It's a solid floor - follow up question ... Do I only attach plasterboard down to the batten OR down to floor? I'm thinking down to the batten - as skirting will cover it anyway ???
