Hi - I'm about to batten up for plasterboarding and I'm wondering should the batten go right down to floor level or be an inch or so above it ?

if its a solid floor leave about 1/2 inch gap.if its a timber floor and YOU know for a certainty that the floor hasnt got and problems then sit it down.
thinking about it just leave a gap.

It's a solid floor - follow up question ...

Do I only attach plasterboard down to the batten OR down to floor?

I'm thinking down to the batten - as skirting will cover it anyway ???
