Hi Well after my c12.30pm post today, I switched on the room lights and they worked non stop from 2.30pm until about ten minutes ago - then the second halogen started fading then stopped. Ideas anyone?

Hi, as mentioned this is a 1780 property, solid wall not cavity. If you read the 2012 brochure from them, pages 30-55, no options for this scenario. You would not use a lintel designed to have 0 load in the middle to support 42 courses of bricks above it....

The wall is three width's on the horizontal, hence the total depth is 33cm (+-0.5cm). does that help? The widest catnic i can find is only to 215mm.

Are you sure? If it was leaking when they fitted the kitchen, surely the would of had to have said - onone in right mind would then hide a known leaking stopcock. If it was not leaking when they fitted, they are at fault, as negligent to hide a stopcock. ?
