Attaching existing rafters to timer beam.

Sorry Garyo I'm a bit confused ? How do you mean beam ratio? Did you use the seats of the rafters and cut them to join the beam ?

Attaching existing rafters to timer beam.

Thanks noseall. Garyo obviously had the same issue. I didn't want a drop in the ceiling . I'll use 100mm hangers then - and extend/alter the angle slightly of the rafters using 4x2 bolted with 12mm coach bolts? Thant sound about right?

Attaching existing rafters to timer beam.

I need to attach 4 of my existing rafters to the double piece of timer you can see in the picture below. Obviously the existing joists I can attach with a hanger but I need to attach the rafters also. The existing rafters have a layboard on them with some weight coming from them. Any ideas?

Dot and dab (bigger boards or join above)

My floor to ceiling height is 2700mm. The standard boards are 2400mm. I have found you can get bigger boards. Is it ok to use the standard boards and join a strip above it or is it better to use complete boards? I was going to do the walls first and then put the ceiling in? Any advise appreciated.

    New roof pitched on existing.

The steel is already in place- welded onto another steel & Ceiling joins fitted. The only way I see I can do it is to extend the roof rafters - can you do this ? I was thinking of running 4x2 timber along side the rafter me fitting 3x10mm bolts through them to join?
