I have a Honeywell g2 wired system with a c079-2 rf portal for wireless keyfob and shed door contact. looking at a df8m wireless smoke detector to the system Is it just a case of programming the zone as fire once added to the system, then event of activation i'll get the normal sms alert and bells?

Useful if you do multiple installs I guess but seems bit pricey for a one off setup.

An Update - I reverted the wireless keyfob back to the V2 protocol without changing anything in the panel settings and it's working again 100% now. I tested a wireless door contact and this was being picked up on Chime, so just appears to be an issue with the wireless keyfob working on the...
