new external drain all blocked up

Hi All We had building work done about 4 months ago and whilst our patio gets renovated i noticed the drain looked full. I put my hand in and found full of waste from our sink waste disposal. I queried the fact that the drain goes down and then back up hill with the builders who said it was...

    Shoe storage

Ok thanks. This is what we have now , minus the door after refurbishment. So I'd like to put some shoe storage which is why I thought of that kind of storage. Any ideas what I could do? There aren't any sides near the opening so think drawers are out of the question.

Floor not level prior to vinyl boards going down.

Yeah, there's dips all around but most are less than 3mm. Just that one area that it's bad. So think it will be fine. Thanks for the info.

Floor not level prior to vinyl boards going down.

Yes it's on one side of the room near the side. Guess it could be rubbed down. I've put down some of the karndean and it does kind of hide the effect of the dip. Maybe it won't be that noticeable as I'm going to put cupboards that end of the room anyway.

Hi all Just finishing having our garage converted by builders. Had the floor concreted and then a screed over the top to "remove imperfections" last night. Walked in today and felt a bit of a ramp near the end. Checked it with a piece of square MDF and it's like this..... Is that going to be...

Didnt check the level because i`m not an installer, i`m just a customer who has to try and fix stuff that cowboys install. yes underlay is for underfloor heating and engineered wood...

Underfloor heating thermostat giving wrong readings

Ok thanks. The probe has been glued into the compound , it's impossible to pull the cable and doesn't look like a conduit has been used as suggested in the installation. I spoke to the manufacturer and he said that but also said some installers don't bother. I guess mine is the latter. There is...

    Creaking engineered flooring

The subfloor is floorboards, and then thick ply , then about 5mm of levelling compound. The levelling compound was solid as it was down about 2 months before the wood flooring was installed. I didn't notice or check if the levelling compound wasn't in fact level. I just think there maybe a...

Underfloor heating thermostat giving wrong readings

Thanks for the replies. The underfloor heating is the wire type that is laid onto 18mm plywood and then a self leveling compound covers it all. Theres a thin underlay designed for underfloor heating above and then the 15mm engineered wood flooring. I`ve tried adjusting the probe cut off to...

thanks for the responses. Think we resolved the issues with a meeting. I`m currently holding back money until they complete certain works in stages. Which oddly enough means they actually seem to be turning up to do jobs.

Hey all We've come across some porcelain cladding 1500mm X 1000mm X 5mm that we are interested in using as a splash back in our kitchen wall, which is approx 2400mm X 680mm. We need 3 sockets cut in as well. Just wondering if this sounds like a viable option. Just concerned about the cuts...

    self leveling compound cracks

My concern is more the tiled shower room where they used the slc to bring up the level in half of the room and put the electric underfloor heating in there aswell. Think it needs to be connected up and see what happens. I just wonder what will happen in the depths of winter when its going from...
