Would you say it's ok to cut away these sections of shed?

If by trusses you mean those triangular section things at the top of the shed then there are only two uprights on one of these pieces - the centre piece. It all appears to me like it was sectioned off for their dog & nothing more. I wasn't sure since i've never built a shed before :)

Would you say it's ok to cut away these sections of shed?

That's good enough for me. I've obtained your IP addresses & if anything goes wrong then I know what I said, but I will track you & sue you :D Seriously though, that's good enough for me to have a bash. Thanks.

What's this 'honey-like' stuff in this paint?

Yeah sure I've seen it before. Always wondered but never asked until now. Thanks :)

Would you say it's ok to cut away these sections of shed?

Shed is a wooden one. 109"L-x-81"W-x-96"H The previous owner had it as a dog shed which i imagine all that meshing was for. I'd rather open it up if possible to give me more space in there. There's 6 triangular pieces in the ceiling section with the 2 upright posts under the centre...

What's this 'honey-like' stuff in this paint?

I knew i didn't have much Zinsser BIN left but i thought i had enough left over to paint up a fresh skirting piece. Opened up the tin & saw this stuff.... What is it? & does it mean the paint is bad or does it just need a stir & it's good to go?

Going fibre broadband & moving master socket.

Yeah i ran testers on a plank of wood so whatever the number was it was literally just enough for the end to go through. Anyway i'd already done the hole by the time i got back to this thread. Routed everything through & tested it so it's all working. All i need now it some corner moulding...

Tightening up the nuts when re-fitting radiator - urgent

Thanks. We got there, put the brackets on the wall, fitted the radiator & then thought, it's going to surely be easier for the carpet fitters if we leave it off due to how low the radiator actually sits. So after all that   But still, we needed to know for when we do it, which...

Tightening up the nuts when re-fitting radiator - urgent

I did that actually :) That's what i'm talking about - i'm bothered about not doing it tight enough so i keep going & keep going & eventually it's too much. So how do you know? Are we talking like i say - as you'd do an oil filter, or perhaps a decent tightening on a tap or more than that...

Tightening up the nuts when re-fitting radiator - urgent

Urgent because we've been let down & the new carpet is being fitted tomorrow & i want it all back on in time. I'm asking this because i've bent some of the 10mm copper piping in the past that comes out of the floor (which caused a leak). I know you can't really tell me precisely how tight...

Suitable radiator for a 4mtr-x-3mtr bedroom?

Thanks. I took what he said as thought he'd be offering sound advice but i always like to check up when people are telling me to empty my pockets. We've asked him to re-fit the original radiator. Regarding inhibitor ........ how much do you stick in the system? I know this will depend on...

Going fibre broadband & moving master socket.

So i'm wanting to drill through the ceiling in order to feed the cat6 cable i bought. Since this is a pre-made one, the connector is on the end. I got a piece of timber to run some test holes to see which bit i needed to get the cable through. I got the biggest drill bit i had which i knew...

Suitable radiator for a 4mtr-x-3mtr bedroom?

Yeah the old one could be reused sure. We were just advised that it was too big for where it's located due to the reasons i provided in the opening post. Obviously we took what this guy said as it's his job. Doesn't mean he's right i admit, but you'd think people should know their job (again...

Suitable radiator for a 4mtr-x-3mtr bedroom?

Sorry, i don't know all the terminology. It's a convector then since it has the "wiggly bits" on the back I didn't in the post since i did in the thread title My bedrooms are upstairs 1 8foot thereabouts Double glazed. Brick outside wall, dashed, plastered interior walls, old plaster, from...

Suitable radiator for a 4mtr-x-3mtr bedroom?

What was in place was a 1600mm-x-600mm single panel radiator. The plumber that came out said this is too large for where it is really. It's right up against the skirting, the base of the radiator is well below the top of the skirting & the top of the radiator is right up against the underside of...

    Problem screwing on doors

I just used what it was already set at to be honest. I understand the basics of the torque settings but not what setting should be for which job so (wrongly) figured top setting would do for everything :D you learn from your mistakes :)

    Problem screwing on doors

Anyway i have this fettled now. Lesson learned here - don't swallow what people tell you. I was wrong when i said i was using the right bit. Turns out i wasn't. I was using PZ1 instead of PZ2 (although the brand new bit i referred to when using manual screwdriver WAS PZ2). Anyway, bit of a...

    Problem screwing on doors

Or a combination of 2 of them with the 3rd option being default :D Anyway like I say, don't be posting when you're dropping asleep in the process. I just wanted to get the thread up, hit the sack & then get he response in the morning. Oops. Anyway yeah the screw goes home a few mm & then...

    Problem screwing on doors

Oh dear some of that post & the thread title will teach me not to post while falling asleep at the desk again!! I tried by hand & cordless. The screw only went in a couple mm before becoming a problem. The drill has torque settings up to 16 if I remember right. The pilot hole I drilled is...

    Problem screwing on doors

I've put 2 sets of doors back on after filling in the screw holes & there's another 2 to go. Problem is i can't find the remaining screws. We have a box of screws, same thickness & length as the others i've used but with different heads (pozi instead of flat that i'd been using). Problem...

How'd you suggest sealing up? Silicone? When Sky fitted a wire at my mums that's how they sealed around the wire. I don't imagine yanking on the wire to be a good idea. I started pulling from the inside & it started busting the plaster.
