Texecom premier elite - kit list check

Another thing that occurred to me is that I sometimes have trouble sleeping so occasionally I will go downstairs to watch some TV in the living room for an hour or maybe grab a drink from the kitchen. Knowing me, I'll forget to disarm the PIR's! :D Don't suppose there's a clever way of...

Texecom premier elite - kit list check

thanks for the response.... considering our cats are getting into their later years (both 8yo) it's surprising how manic they can be when they have their "funny half hours", usually at night. The girl cat is also a bit of a nutter..... randomly attacks the far bigger boy cat out of the blue for...

Texecom premier elite - kit list check

thanks, really appreciate the response. Hmm in that case perhaps I’d be better off finding a different location to mount the Elite 64-W then instead of under the stairs, which is one of the few places in the house where getting “new” cables to it will be a PITA. I guess I could mount the 64-W...

Texecom premier elite - kit list check

Hi all, I'm looking to install a Texecom premier elite system as I hear a lot of good things about them, and it seems like a lot of pro installers use them which is a big thumbs up in my opinion. Before I share my kit list, a couple of things worth pointing out. Firstly, I'm reasonably...

    Insulating a ceiling

Actually ignore me I’m being stupid, I can cut them into 3’s for each slab as they’re 1200 mm long, so I’ll just have 400x 600 slabs, and presumbly should be able to squeeze the 400 wide into the 380 width without too much issue

    Insulating a ceiling

Cheers pal, I was looking at the Rockwool RWA45 as it looks like it’s also good for a bit of sound insulation as well which can’t be a bad thing…. They seem to only come in 600mm wide… my joists seem to be around 380(ish) mm wide…. Can I compact them in or do I need to shave 220mm off of every...

    Insulating a ceiling

Recently had a full home re-wire and now the living room and passageway have exposed joists where the ceiling was ripped down to cable the new electrics. before we plasterboard the ceilings I thought it might be a good opportunity to stick some insulation up to hopefully lower the heating bills...

Forward planning for new kitchen - electrical wiring

I’ve only got space for one double socket on each side.... it’s a small kitchen and I need to abide by the 30cm distance from the hob on either side and on the other side of the hob there will be small shelves. On the oven side there is a serving hatch so only have space for one double gang...

Forward planning for new kitchen - electrical wiring

Before I even begin this thread, I just want to state that I have no intention of doing this work myself! I'm not a qualified spark, and I will be getting one in. Part of the reason I'm asking the question is because I want to do some forward planning in terms of exactly where I want sockets...

DCV on mains AND outdoor tap?

Renovating the kitchen at the moment and thought it was a good opportunity to rip out the old water pipes that had seen better days and fit fresh ones. My main water comes up from under the stairs so I’ve fitted a pegler stopcock before it heads into the kitchen. There’s no sign of a DCV before...

Electric UFH mats in kitchen over bitumen

Hi all, I'm looking to install electric UFH mats in the kitchen...... I have a bitumen surface after lifting up all the old tiles that were under the lino (have since found out those tiles may have had asbestos in them, but it's done now, so can't change that, so the bitumen surface would be a...

Planning out pipework for new kitchen

I was thinking of maybe using a cross over to get the hot on the left side, but this will be a new kitchen with a mixer tap with tails, with both the base unit and the quartz counter being cut with a single 35mm hold for the mixer tap. If we ever go for a separate pair of taps, the countertop...

Planning out pipework for new kitchen

    Damp garage floor

Hi all, looking for some advice with a garage suffering from damp and mould. the garage wasn’t used for storing a car when we moved in and that’s never changed. It had a carpet down and a condenser tumble dryer, fridge freezer, a bench and some free weights and other random things stored out...

2-way dimmer with retractive switch problem

Finally got it working! It was the wrong retractive switch as I suspected. This is the new one. It bounces back to its home position and the actual switch runs parallel to the plate as opposed to the first one which is more like a normal switch in the off position until you click/hold the...
