    How many Battens

Hello I am aware that the sizes of Roof Slates dictate the number of battens for a Pitched Roof. I do not know how to work that out. So I have included a drawing showing the distances between the holes in the Slate. Please let me know if anyone can advise. Please see drawing as attached...

    Truss Roof/Concrete blocks in gable

Hello, I have a building under construction. At this point the walls are up. The roof trusses have been installed. I have been told that the gable section (concrete blocks/bricks), must be completed before installing roof tiles/insulation. Due to unsettled weather, I would like to know if...

    Blockage Rainwater drain

Hi. Thank you. Yesterday I used plenty of baking soda/vinegar. Waited for more than an hour. Poured hot water. But the level remained high. Decided to leave it to (hopefully) work. Will check again. Will check insurance. CBW: The drain goes directly to the road. Never used a Karcher...

    Blockage Rainwater drain

Hi. There is a rainwater drain at the front of the house. Recently the heavy downpour resulted in the water rising to a level to nearly flowing into the house. After the water receded to a level within the drain I cleared all the debris. The (square) aperture is only 125mm and the pipe...

    PoE CCTV Cameras/Backup HD

Thank you. After waiting for a long time I got an answer from the suppliers. It can accommodate 2 HDs, but it is warranted (has a seal) for 3 years. So if I wanted to fit a secondary, it would have to be external. In that case, I would want a Skyhawk, but I can't see any Skyhawk, external.

    Different types Padstones?

    Different types Padstones?

Hello guys My surveyor says to get RC35 Padstones. I asked Builders Merchants if they can supply RC35. Answer they gave?. 'Presumably', they do. Not helpful. If they sell the stuff and can't be specific, how can I know what to get?. Are there different standards for Padstones?. Please...

    Naylor Lintels

Hi I need to get a Lintel. It is recommended I use R6 Lintel. Those Lintels are 100 X 145mm. But the wall is 2 leaves of 100mm, making it 215mm wide. I am wondering, how will the bricklayer be able to put 2 X 100mm concrete blocks on top of the Lintel? This is not my field of work, so I...

    Aerated Concrete blocks (Thermalite) or

Hi, Thank you for your response. Please see the attached Photos. You will see that the end rafter is about flush with the inner side of the 215mm wall. It seems to me that it is set for a wide concrete Lintel and a 440 X 215 X215mm. So, a concrete block larger than 100mm is the one to use..
