I couldn't get my hand in even close to check the connections at the back of the alternator. The earth to the body is secure. I tried to make the light come on again but it only flashed and it didn't come on again. I've found some good links on how to get access to the alternator see below...

Thanks both for the replies. I'll probabily get one from ebay with a new belt and fit it. I've read you need to remove it by taking the drive belt tensioner bracket that the alternator bolts on to off. So I have an idea now. I'll check the connections later if I can get to them and get on...

Hi, My 1.6 comfort Zafira is intermittently showing the battery light. This causes the dash lights to dim and the PAS to cut out. The light does go out after about 15 seconds but its happening more often, can happen after starting with heaters on etc or just driving under normal load...

Ha ha ha, I never noticed Anyway I called the DNO they said they use to do this but not anymore and said to contact my supplier! Seems only option is for another electrician to do the work

Even I can tell its dangerous hence I really want it sorting. Does anyone know if there would be a cost in a DSO coming out and removing them?

Hi, At some stage 2 extra tails were installed from the meter for a shower to be powered when an old CU was full. Since then a new CU was installed and these extra tails were just cut and taped due to the meter being sealed. Who would I contact to remove these extra tails? Thanks Dan

Thanks again for the replies. It is the bathroom radiator and the back bedroom one which is next to the bathroom. No others get hot. I'm not sure what you mean about "and are you sure they do not normally heat up?" They heat up when the heating is on fine as do all the radiators.

Hi all, The wife has reported to me a few times that when the boiler is on to heat up some hot water in the tank 2 of the upstairs radiators get warm? The heating has been off for the last 4-5 months so not sure whats going on? Could the 3 way diverter be open a little? Thanks Dan

Would I remove the yellow taped wire (CH ON) from the LWC3 and connect it to the Common on the thermostat. Then the neutral to the terminal 5 on the boiler. Then the call for heat to the terminal I removed the yellow taped wire from?

To add to this. The boiler manual states: If a room thermostat is to be connected to a time switch the wire between the time switch "on" terminal and boiler terminal 4 should be broken by the contacts of the room thermostat. I have taken a look at the wiring for the CH On on the LP522...

I have been reading up. The only question I have is: If I purchase a Vaillant VRT 30 can I connect that direct to the Boiler or will it need to connect to the Drayton Lifestyle LP522 programmer to work in conjunction with it? Thanks in advance
