    Chipped bath

Found some Ronseal Kitchen and Bathroom Touch-up Enamel in B&Q. Looks a bit like the paint you get to fix car bonnet chips. The blurb on the back says that its "An all in one filler and paint that provides a long lasting smooth white finish". Anyone have any experience of it?

    Tired silicone

The silicone around my inside uPVC window edges is looking a bit tired; black in places. Is there any way to bring it back to life, without having to remove it and apply some new.

    Chipped bath

I've got a small chip (about the size of a 5 pence piece) on my steel bath. Its at the bottom so no chance of missing it. Is there a way to fix it?, apart from buying a new bath. I've heard about enamel paint but not sure which one to go for, where to get one or if they're any good.

    Wood colour/preservative?

I bought some deep bowls (16 inch across) a couple of years ago. They were a deep brown, mahogany colour then, but now parts of it has gone pale. A friend thought that it could do with a coat of linseed oil. Is he right? If so, how do you apply it and where can I get some?

    Treating damp spots

Thanks for all the good advice. A washing line would be perfect but sadly we're on a 2nd floor flat so its not an option. And its a condensing dryer because theres not a hole in the wall, but the kitchen window stays open when its on, and working. But you're right the real problem is the...

    Treating damp spots

The spots have just appeared so the paint and plaster are sound, for the moment! I'm trying to keep the window open to get rid of the humidity but there a newborn in the house so its a bit difficult. As its localised to a small corner of the room is there a small dehumidifier you can...

    Treating damp spots

The dryer broke down before Christmas and I've been using a metal stand upstairs to dry the clothes. I've noticed some black (damp?) spots on the wall round one window and condensation on the window. All probably due to the humidity being a bit steep. Whats the best way of getting rid of...

    Electric Cooker Fuse

The kitchen already has a 32A mcb fitted, if its enough then fine. But if the wife chooses a bigger cooker then I want to make sure that the mcb won't get overloaded. Better safe than sorry!

    Electric Cooker?

Is it worth changing from a gas stove to an electric one? Or is electricity still too expensive.

How to get Agree/Disagree Display up?

At my school each pupil now have individual login username and password. Each time a PC is logged into I'd like to display the school IT policy, with two pushbuttons -"I agree" and "I disagree" - displayed. If the user chooses "I disagree" the session ends and they are automatically logged...

    Prepare walls?

Thanks for that. Is it just a gentle wipe using a sponge with the sugar soap, or do I need to get the scourer out? The walls don't appear to have any food residue, just good old fashioned grime and dust. How long does it take the sugar soap to dry before I can paint?

    Prepare walls?

I’ve got to repaint my mum’s flat, its been a good few years. Do I need to wash the walls down with anything or is it OK to just start painting? Theres no wallpaper, just paint when it was done last.

OK to use low energy bulb?

A couple of quickies about low evergy lightbulbs. 1. I've got a table lamp (with cloth shade) that takes a traditional 60W GLS bulb, can I replace it with a 100W low energy bulb? 2. Can I replace a traditional 60W ES bulb in the bathroom with a 100W low energy bulb? Do you have to use...

    How to highlight MSExcel change?

I've already thought of the first one about changing the tab colours, but the reader is a novice and may (will!) probably struggle with it. Your second suggestion sounds neater, I'm never done any equation type operations in Excel before, but I'm going to give it a go. Thanks for the help...

    How to highlight MSExcel change?

I've got a MS Excel file with 30 tabs relating to a separate issue. I update each tab as necessary. The file is viewed each day by one other. Rather than having to check every tab is there a way I can set the file so that it highlights the tabs which I've updated. I thought of turning on...
