A couple of quickies about low evergy lightbulbs.

1. I've got a table lamp (with cloth shade) that takes a traditional 60W GLS bulb, can I replace it with a 100W low energy bulb?

2. Can I replace a traditional 60W ES bulb in the bathroom with a 100W low energy bulb? Do you have to use special low energy bulbs in the bathroom?

When you mean a "100w" energy saving bulb, do you mean an equivalent of 100w?

A 23w CFL is approximately equivalent to a 100w GLS bulb

Your 60w lamp shade will be fine with a 23w CFL in it.

I dont think bathrooms need any special bulbs assuming its just a normal fitting.

Thanks. Sorry, yes I meant a 100W low energy bulb, thats rated around 25W I think.

Just bung 'em in, they'll be fine - unless you have a dimmer fitted.

In that case you'll need a dimmerable low energy lamp, like the Megaman dimmerable range.
