Can anyone recommend a good extractor fan?

LOL, yes 10 cubic meters. No hole cut yet. External wall is about 1m away, but there is already an out let in the sofits about 2m away, so intend on using that. The shower is just a thermostatic off the combi boiler, nothing fancy. Thanks

    Shower tray fitting

Hi all I've got one of these stone resin trays 1200 x 900 so it is chuffin heavy! I've also been watching Roger Bisby on you tube, who says to mix 6-1 sand cement to lay it on for good support, which makes sense to me. It will be walled on 3 sides, so it's not going anywhere when down. Any...

Can anyone recommend a good extractor fan?

Not sure if this is the correct section, maybe electrics? Anyway, I'm refitting my shower room. It is about 9-10 m cubed. I'm looking for an inline, quiet, powerful, timed extractor fan, but there are so many to choose from. It doesn't need a light in. Just looking for current recommends to...

    700 x 280 wall tiles.

Very good mate. i wanted to do my own too, having done a bit in the past, but i've got too much other stuff on so elected to pay someone to do mine. You've done a decent job there though, fair play.

    To tile or wall panel

Are you taking about the Knauf Aquapanel? I was considering using the Green Gyproc plasterboard - moisture resistant stuff. One wall will be plastered as it is a continuation from the main wall, but the other two will be stud and paneled, tanked and tiled. If one wall is being plastered, can...

    To tile or wall panel

Thanks all. The boss has now decided she prefers the look of big tiles which I am happy about as I know how to finish the tiles. So now I have to consider whether to use aquaboard, or just plasterboard with a good tanking product. More dilemmas!

    To tile or wall panel

Yes, I have heard that they can go straight onto regular plasterboard. Is this really the case though? I don't want to be doing it again in a couple of years just to save a few quid now. I need thicker ones as well, as the tray i'm going to be using does not have an upstand around it.

Going for a big square shower head, so planning to have one extractor fan either side of it with an LED bulb.

    Gas meter location change

Had a chap around this morning to have a look. He made all the right noises and didn't think it was a problem. I should get the quote tomorrow. Phoned (left messages) and e:mailed a few (~5) others, and only the one response so far. Busy trade.

    To tile or wall panel

Hi all I asked this in the Plumbing section, but this section is probably more relevant, so sorry if you have already seen this. We are having a new shower room where we will be installing a 1200x900 shower with a 1200 door across the front. 3 walls will be paneled or tiled. My wife and I are...

    To tile or wall panel

Thank guys. I've just noticed a tiling forum as well, so going to add to there as it's probably a more relevant section. I hear what you are saying though. I suppose we just need to find the right panels...

    To tile or wall panel

Hi all We are having a new shower room where we will be installing a 1200x900 shower with a 1200 door across the front. 3 walls will be paneled or tiled. My wife and I are not seeing eye to eye on the wall finish. She likes the wall panels with a bit of sparkle, but I think they look a bit like...

    Gas meter location change

Thanks all. From all the recent reading I have done, the big issue with moving a gas meter is that the only accessible shutoff is at the gas meter in the house. Therefore, if the pipe is changed in the house it cannot be shut off. The road needs to be dug up to isolate supply which is where...

    Gas meter location change

Hi All I've had a search, but can't find anything specific to what I would like to do. First off, I'm clearly not going to attempt this myself as that would be illegal and stupid. I will get some gas safe fitters to quote, but just want to be sure what I am trying to do is feasible and that I...

    Concertina loft ladder

I've had a strong word with myself, and there is no way I'm spending £900 on a loft ladder. What was i thinking!!! I'll keep searching and i may end up going for a slider one instead. Can't do the fold up as these need to use the hatch. My ladder option needs to be totally independent of the...

    Concertina loft ladder

Hi All Had a look through the previous posts, but couldn't find anything up to date. I'm having some work done in my house, and would like a concertina ladder as they seem strong and compact with good tread sizes. We also don't want to ladder to intrude into the loft space for other reasons...

    Wireless programable thermostat recommendations?

With no 'love' for the Siemense, i'll go for the Honeywell then. Many thanks for your replies, and a useful bit of battery info  . Huw

    Wireless programable thermostat recommendations?

Hi All I currently have a programable hard wired thermostat on the upstairs landing of my house. Ideally, id like it to be in the lower hallway, but i can't track a wire to the new location. I was considering Siemens Rev24 or Honeywell CMT927, but would really like the benefit of your...
