Does the switched live stay on until the valves are closed as well then?

    Washing machine motor

Hi, I'd like to use a washing machine motor to make a sanding machine. I got the motor from an old machine but I expected there to be just two terminals but there are six. Do I just connect the two that go to the brushes? Thanks in advance.

    4 wire actuators

Hi, I'm installing the actuators for my ufh. Two of the four wires are for a switched live to a pump or whatever. Would the switched live "wait" until the valves are fully open? As the actuators take 2 to 3 minutes to open the valves the pump would be circulating while the valves are closed.

    Underfloor pump and mixer valve.

Whats the best way to install the components? I'm thinking 1. Pump on flow from thermal store 2. Bypass valve from flow to return 3. Thermostatic mixer valve blending in the return from the ufh. 4. Manifold Some people seem to have the pump after the mixer valve. 1. Mixer valve 2...

    Boiler pressure rising

Thanks but I intend to try and fix it myself. I know how the pressure vessel should work, I just want to know if there could be anything else causing it?

    Boiler pressure rising

We had an engineer out looking at our boiler two days ago. I phoned before hand and said I think theres a problem with the heat exchanger, he came over and saw that the hot water wasn't heating up enough etc and agreed. Anyway, next time the boiler fired up for heating the pressure rose up to 3...

Do i mean brick weave? Doesn't that use rectangular tiles? They're large rooms at 50 and 25m2 and the floor is anhydrite screed.

    hopscotch

Any tips for laying a hopscotch tile pattern? The tiles are 45x45 and 30x30. Should I mark out some parallel lines 15cm apart?

    Tie rods

I need to fit one. I've done a few but they've all been in two parts with turnbuckles connecting them. Apart from transporting a seven metre rod is there any reason it can't just be in one piece? I'm sure I can get as much torque on the nuts as with the turnbuckle. If its in one peice I can...

    Central heating pump

Thank you ian and cantaloup. After watching tomplumbs video on unseizing pumps I have always intended to refit the pump and just wanted to know if it needed lubricating. Iwas perhaps given a reason not to lubricate but never a reason not to refit. I didn't notice any wit, just arrogant...

    Car radio

I looked for one quickly but couldn't see one. Its an old car, an 89 pug 205, will it definitely have one? I can look again tomorrow in the daylight. Would that explain the low voltages?

    Car radio

Sorry, I didn't make that clear. The three wires are on the car, the stereo wires have writing on them to identify them.

    Car radio

Why can't I get a car stereo working. It wouldn't light up when I try to connect it. There are three wires hanging out the slot, a thick white, a thin white and a yellow. I think the thick white is the neutral/earth. When I put my multimeter over the earth and either of the wires I think are the...

    Central heating pump

Jeezo, trying to get a straight answer out of you lot seems to be impossible. Can anyone actually tell me why I shouldn't fit this pump?

    Central heating pump

He said don't lubricate but then said get a new pump. Mixed message.
