Anyone recently bought good loo to use with saniflo?

I'm struggling a bit on this. Bought an Ideal Standard "Tempo" which looked ideal (no pun intended..) but it actually isn't particularly good mainly because of the inaccessible spigot and difficulty with extending outlet. I think best really is a pan where the outlet/spigot is visible from a...

What fitting from plastic pipe needed pls

This (from screwfix) isolating elbow seems ideal for me. But other side from the 15mm compression is this 1/2” fitting. I want to come off a cistern inlet to it if someone could advise. A flexi might be helpful coming off the cistern inlet (maybe not essential) however plastic pipe going to...

Wet area floor former underfloor heating

Hi folks, regarding tiling the sloped floor former and electric underfloor heating. Having just laid heat mat in my main bathroom I feel aware of how much it raises levels. I don’t want to upset the floor former’s slopes (not too bothered about trying to mat over it..) but I’d quite like to mat...

Wet area tanking what to use on walls prior

Hi, Difficult to know what section for this but figured bathrooms/plumbers may be familiar. I’ve a tanking membrane I’ll go full wall height with in a corner wet area but not sure what best to place the adhesive tanking sheets on to. I’ve had some solid walls plastered so I guess one option...

Sanicompact all in one toilet macerator

That sounds like fair advice, thanks. Don't suppose you have any pictures to give me ideas and inspiration?

Sanicompact all in one toilet macerator

Thx for replies. Had the batons and ply before and it looks a bit sh1t. Maybe tiling a removable box but it would of course be a bit heavy. Can you plumb into that lower outlet on the sanicompact? I can’t say the sanicompact sounds very easy to fit up/plumb with its back to wall design but...

Sanicompact all in one toilet macerator

Thanks I think the extra inlet it’ll take is quite high up on the back (diagrams I’ve looked at aren’t great..) but as you say really just for a basin, not for accepting likes of a shower too. If like for like I could do with some inspiration on hiding the unit. Tricky when ideally you want...

Sanicompact all in one toilet macerator

Hi folks, Just finished renovating my main bathroom and now moving on to en-suite where I’ve had a Sani Pro (WHB and shower run into it as well as loo). Been looking at these...

Wrecked boards and badly cut joists

Thanks Ian and thanks to John D for his reply above. I’m about to check out those packers. Seems likely I’d need mostly 1-3mm. I could maybe PM you if I wanted some? One of things that puts me off ply is maybe placing suitable packers but it’s orherwise a good plan. As you say it’s thick...

Wrecked boards and badly cut joists

Thanks for replies JobAndKnock, when I mentioned the thick ply I was thinking perhaps lifting the hall boards completely and using thick ply instead, not patching areas with it. Maybe easier said than done though. To do it well I guess also would really need skirtings etc removed

Wrecked boards and badly cut joists

Thanks for your reply. What is a slate lath? When I mentioned ply I mentioned thick because of wondering about replacing the all the bad floor boards with plywood straight onto joists. Some of my living room is actually patched with very large boards. There is actually ply down just now over...

Wrecked boards and badly cut joists

Would like a bit advice please. In my circa 1890 flat I've discovered badly cut boards and joists. At the moment only really seen some of my 1m wide by 9m long hall. Obviously over the years boards been up and down and plumbing/heating installed etc. I'd hoped to sand floors but suspect thats...

Speedfit with chrome pipe to TRV

Yep, better safe than sorry. Chrome stripped off easily enough. Screwfix pipe. Not a criticism, probably the opposite

Speedfit with chrome pipe to TRV

Yes, exactly what I started thinking. Maybe some of the older chrome pipe was harder and equally maybe some of the older plastic fittings weren’t quite as good as the latest for gripping. You can see my pipe has scored/gripped surprisingly well. I’m not saying people shouldn’t be mighty careful...

Speedfit with chrome pipe to TRV

Sounds a good tool. Cheers https://www.screwfix.com/p/tectite-sprint-t115-scribe-tool-depth-marker/611fj Just looked closely at my chrome pipe and it has scored/marked where the teeth in the fitting gripped it. I do however imagine some variants of chromed pipe might be tougher so might not...

Speedfit with chrome pipe to TRV

I understand. Though this evening as an experiment I tried a new bit chrome pipe in a new JG elbow and by the clappers it absolutely won’t pull out (unless the collar is pressed) so the teeth do actually seem to be gripping it well

Speedfit with chrome pipe to TRV

Can you manage to strip the chrome off it without huge difficulty...? I’m assuming this applies to most plastic fittings but I also imagine they’re often used (like I have) with chrome pipe

Speedfit with chrome pipe to TRV

I just stumbled online someone saying it's a no no. Surely not though..? I made a couple of connections from normal copper with JG onto the visible chrome pipe. They're for a bathroom towel rail that isn't yet connected to the heating. I actually used Speedfit because thought might be preferable...

    Some products and advice please

Hi A little guidance and advice please. I'm not totally new to a bit of tiling but am about to tile my 3ft square bathroom floor with 600x300 porcelain tiles. It's 12mm ply, 6mm Jackoboard for insulation (then the heat mat) and just today I've poured latex self levelling screed. I'll break it...
