    Rawlplug Tap It

There are 4 fixing points as there are 2 side by side racks so even finding one stud means the other 3 don't cover a stud

    Rawlplug Tap It

I have a slight issue with a stud wall in so much as I want to put a coat rack up. Space behind is a bit limited and I've just found Rawlplug Tap It's that seem to be able to do the job. Just wondering if anyone has used them - they're supposed to hold the weight of a radiator but that could...

    Issue with digital TV signal

I've used them in the past and they're great but I've just moved to Lincoln. Called in at an aerial shop in Gainsborough at weekend and it was him that said it was a radio aerial when I showed him the image. Will be ringing ATV later today :)

    Issue with digital TV signal

So having been back up in the loft it seems that the fm aerial is actually my TV aerial. I'll be changing it imminently.

    Issue with digital TV signal

We've just moved into a house with numerous aerial points and a couple of them have poor signals with picture breaking up on the odd channel. The signal is relayed through a booster but I'm thinking the aerial is the problem. I can't find the aerial anywhere so wondered if anyone could tell me...

    Upvc beading adhesive

I've just moved into a property that has upvc windows. The windows are split half and half with beading that has been stuck on with some sort of double sided tape. I've noticed a few are a bit loose so just wondering what the best tape is to fix them back on as what the window manufacturer used...

Gravel Driveway lower than Garage Floor

I'm moving into a house that has a gravel driveway that sits a couple of inches below the garage floor. Just wondering if anyone has any experience with fitting "threshold" ramps and if so are any recommended or alternative solutions?

Oak Splashback Coming away from plaster

I have no idea at the moment. It was something the homebuyers report showed up. It's not a major issue as we intend replacing the wooden worktops at some point anyway but it would make sense just to fix it in place until that happens.

Oak Splashback Coming away from plaster

I'm about to move into a new home that has wooden splashback that has sprung from the plaster slightly over about a length of 8 inches. Just wondering what the best adhesive for fixing it would be? It's only about 2 or 3 inch depth with tiles above.

    TV on Lighting Ring Main?

Wow I've been distracted recently and missed all the fun. Anyway just to spoil the Winston thread, can I confirm if I go down the route of a socket and a 5 amp (hopefully no typo this time) fuse, I should be OK?

    TV on Lighting Ring Main?

Just about to move house and the main bedroom has nowhere to mount a TV wall bracket so I'm looking at ceiling mounts. Only trouble with this is the power supply would be off the lighting circuit. The TV is a 32" Sony Bravia that uses 55w when it's on. I'd need to get an electrician to do it but...

Foam Draught excluder on UPVC removal

For some reason the previous owner used foam excluder around one of his upvc windows. If I take it off what’s the best way to get rid of the residue without damaging the upvc? I the intend renewing the original seal if it’s draughty.

Fixing Extending Canopy to Random Stone

My wife’s decided we need a sun canopy so will be looking at getting a cassette type. My issue is we have a property built with random stone. Before buying one I take it I can just pack the attachments with some sort of spacer and use longer fixings? Any suggestions for best type of fixings and...

    Corner Summerhouse Project

We've just had some work done in the garden and now want to site a corner summerhouse approx 7ft x 7ft. There's also some dispute about whether pressure treated or dipped is better. Personally I thought pressure treated was better but I've read that's not necessarily the case. Looking at the...

Advice on electric shower water inlet

Thanks, I am aware the positions vary and will buy a shower that will accommodate my inlet but what I'm after is how far out from the wall will the new pipe need to be? No chance of using compression fittings so soldered it will be

Advice on electric shower water inlet

I currently have an Iflo 9.5kw shower fitted that has started leaking internally and needs replacing. The Iflo water connection is a direct push fit onto copper piping in the wall which means I now need to install an elbow onto the pipe in order to fit the replacement. I've not decided on a...

    Electric Showers?

The cable is 14mm wired directly from the CU to the shower unit itself Being a bit dim I see the 80amp RCD but then see the 4 MCB's adding up to 84amps which is slightly more than the 80 amp limit for the RCD. If I get the 32 amp mcb changed to 50 amp that then adds up to 102 amps. Sorry...
