I have an Atag A200 OV with external Atag diverter and an iSense. It all works together.

It is not to prevent backflow. The two port valve closes flow through the TMV and straight back to the return. With no demand for the underfloor, the valve will get to temperature and open the path to the boiler return.

It's had regular oil changes and I'll make sure that the swirl flaps are gone.

Sorry to hear of your troubles, but I think that you should have scrapped it at the turbo. I had an 02 with 184000 miles on it and thankfully someone wrote it off for me. Go to an auto electrician and get a full diagnostic.

Check your DHW flow rate, if it's higher than spec then you'll need a Pressure Reducing Valve to knock the mains down to 2.5 bar and maybe a flow regulator t omatch the flow rate of the boiler. Why did you call Viessmann Tech?
