    Texecom 48 Soak test

I'm probably missing something obvious here but I can't get soak test to work. I've set the attributes to 'On Test' on every zone in wintex (exlcuding front door contact), I've then gone into engineer utils and enable soak test one Area A. But every zone is causing a full alarm. I've doubled...

    Texecom Impaq Plus EOL Wiring

Advising to not wire it EOL? Bit strange as EOL is better I've always been told/read. Oh and I only have 6 core to it anyway as it's an existing wire run that's been run when the front door had been removed in the past so it's neat and hidden

Have I gone overboard with the 2K2 on the Reed to Z1 is my concern I should add

    Texecom Impaq Plus EOL Wiring

Evening All, Quick question, this will be on my front door so I want it on 2 zones, 1 for reed and 1 for shock. Prem 48 With EOL Wiring... Is this correct? I'm going with Z1 to Reed 4K7 Reed to Reed Reed to 2k2 to Z1 Z2 to Tamp Tamp to Alarm 2K2 Alarm to Alarm 4K7 Alarm to Z2 +/- 12v...

    Fire Alarm

They're reasonably priced, what's difference between normal 2 zone and economy apart from £10 in price? Curious, does anyone make 'modern' looking heads which are better suited to houses? I don't mind the apollos but they do look a little commercial in a house

    Fire Alarm

I'm happy to change all the sensors/bases anyway due to the previous owner getting paint all over them (fyi, no paint on the sensors). Just need a recommendation of a reliable brand really that'll suit the existing wiring constraints I have. If addressable can't be on the current EOL circuit...

    Fire Alarm

Hi, Sorry about the delay, I've been ill all weekend :( As requested below, the last base has newer twin and earth due to house alterations and an 8K resister in there, the rest all have diodes in them. Panel https://ibb.co/MSrTYy8 Smoke https://ibb.co/gW2QLWk Smoke Base...

    Fire Alarm

Can addressable systems not be on EOL? It's not too important to be addressable/zoned it I guess. I just want to modernise it, the panel doesn't even go into fault if you take a head off the base which seems odd. At the end of the day it's a house so it's not going to be hard to find a...

    Fire Alarm

I was speaking hypothetically/worst case :) All the detectors are currently Newlec branded Apollos it looks, and the bases are all apollo too from some research.

    Fire Alarm

Good point, they both EOL on the landing, but it does mean half would be fire protected and half not :( I was thinking if the bell EOL stay on the fire protected at least we have the main warning part covered. If fire burns through the twin and earth it should go into alarm anyway I assume?

    Fire Alarm

After some advice please. Our house used to be a HMO, hence there was once a full fire alarm installed, most of it is still installed/working except for 3 heat sensors (long story but I've found the cables in the ceiling to get them all working again). Can anyone direct me to a simple system I...

    Texecom Premier Install Questions

Yes, I've seen all the X locations, it's a window with a radiator below it haha, couldn't be harder to place! The window has verticals blinds on it if this helps. It's South East facing. Fortunately I'm using a Wireless one for this, so tempted to try it and see if I get false alarms then...

    Texecom Premier Install Questions

Awesome, thanks for the advice! 1 Last question, Conflicting advice I'm reading about the Dual Tech PIRs. Can I point them at a window that's 4.5m away? It gives me the best room coverage as the window spreads nearly the width of the room, the alternative is to place above the window but this...

    Texecom Premier Install Questions

Hi, Thanks for the reply. 1, Triple EOL, does the 48 Panel support this, I assume it's in the setups once I'm in wintex? So does wiring 0V to Set just mean Anti masking won't ever cause an issue as it's effectively always ready to be set? To do the TEOL, which terminals do I use, there's a...

    Texecom Premier Install Questions

Morning All, Firstly I'm an amateur installer but this is the second Premier 48 I've installed as the last one didn't give a single flase alarm or hickup in 11 years So the new one (Prem 48), we have 8 wired zones to panel, ~12 Ricochet devices, 2 Wired keypads with another 2 zones used on each...

Discoloured paint from hot water pipes (not leaking)

Guess it's not a common problem, these are both hot with it being the central heating. Want to avoid lining paper (an extra task to the list). We're painting it a darker colour this time so hoping it will hide it anyway I guess

Discoloured paint from hot water pipes (not leaking)

Moved into a new house recently so the decorating has begun, however one of the rooms has a slightly darker line of paint going down the wall and light cracking occasionally, when I touch the wall it's hot (same time as central heating is on so it's it's a heating pipe). The house is dot n dab...
