Isn't it time to ban dangerous dogs?

...it is a pitbull. Such a dog would need to be castrated (if a male) and muzzled at all times. Failure to do so would mean no licence and massive penalties if it attacked anyone (mandatory jail for the owner). This would make such dogs unpopular and the breeds would disappear from the streets.

Another vicious dog - another dead child

Click me Given that no child should be left alone with any dog, why do people still allow their killer dogs anywhere near their children. Bonkers. This family will grieve for the rest of their lives all because of a poxy "I'm 'ard" dog. Dogs can be replaced. Children can not.

Karndean / Amtico Flooring with dog

Good afternoon, Does anyone have experience of Amitco or Karndean (wood type look) flooring with dogs? I am concerned about the slipperiness of it and the dog "scooby dooing" as he runs across the floor. Any comments on whether it can be scratched with their claws. Appreciate your comments...

    Dog lover - not.

Watched two dogs (black and gold Labs) mucking about, running over peoples gardens and clearly no owner in sight. I tried to call them and they took off in the direction of the main road. I trotted to the corner and a woman pulled over in a car and said "they're headed towards the A51...!" I...

Pitbull savages woman's guide dog at train station

Does anyone know the owner of this dog? This dog needs to be destroyed asap in my opinion. The lad seemed to be doing as much as he could to get his dog to stop but it's clearly dangerous. http://www.thisislondon.co.uk/standard/article-23771565-pitbull-savages-womans-guide-dog-at-station.do

    Dog Food

Last week I rehomed a 2.5 yo chocolate lab. Quite a big boy, probably 30-35 kg. He's been fed on Royal Canin (not sure what type) I'm told it's the best. He certainly gobbles it up. Is it really good for the dogs or is it just hype? Anyone got any recommendations? Thanks

    Dog coats

Are they neccesary or are they just to make the owners feel they are looking after their animal. I've just seen a man walk down the road with a Cocker Spaniel in a pink fluffy coat. He looked embarrased and I thought why doesn't he just take it off the dog, after all it evolved for millions of...

    Dog-proofing a garden

We hope to get a dog soon and need to dogproof the garden so that it can't escape onto the road. The only place now that needs doing is below the gates. The gates are the full width of the drive and are remote controlled but there is a gap below them of about 8 inches which I'm sure a...

...coming back tomorrow. :) It would be good to know how you did it, I know GD can be quite opinionated so it would be good to hear from people who've done it and not someone that doesn't own a dog who wants to start a 3 page thread about dangerous dogs and kids!! Thanks in advance
