Does anyone know what the metal straps underneath the rungs on wooden ladders are called and where I can get them. I have an A-frame ladder and the rungs are still in good condition, but the metal straps are rusted and I would like to replace them.

Thanks 'Ban-All-Sheds' for the comments. There is obviously more to electrics than I had envisage and so will not bother. I will leave it to the experts, probably save me money in the long term.

Thanks for the info. Am I right to assume then, the ring circuit for the Kitchen sockets could be run in parallel from the existing ring main, providing there is sufficient rating and the sockets above the work top are RSD protected.

I was reading a previous discussion which stated not connecting the fridge freezer to the RCD for the kitchen. I thought all circuits in the kitchen had to be protected by an RCD and so how could you avoid this for the fridge freezer socket?

Most single ovens are 3kW or less, and plug into a 13A socket. Does this mean you could plug into a standard 2.5mm ring??? or am I showing my stupidity.

Hi anyone, I am converting my attic into an 'attic room'. The floor joists will span 3.470mtrs without support, other than being joined with joist hangers at either end. Can I use C16 T1 graded 200 x 47mm carcassing with nogins in the center or will I need an higher grade timber.
